Rewarding organizations and individuals in scientific, technological, innovative startup activities

That was the statement of Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi at the award ceremony for organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in science, technology and innovative startups in Da Nang city, which took place on the afternoon of May 12.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee said that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation clearly identifies science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as one of the strategic breakthroughs, the main driving force for rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new era.

The city has materialized this resolution through specific action programs and plans. For four consecutive years, Da Nang has been honored by the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association as an “Attractive City for Innovative Startups”; and was also awarded the title of “Outstanding Locality in Building a Startup Ecosystem” by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).

According to the assessment and ranking results of the Ministry of Science and Technology on the Local Innovation Index, in 2023 and 2024, Da Nang city is in the top of the country and always leads the North Central and Central Coast regions.

In 2024, Vietnam's innovative startup ecosystem ranked 56th in the Startup Blink Global Startup Ecosystem Index. Notably, Da Nang was for the first time in the top 1,000 global cities for startup ecosystems according to the ranking of the Startup Blink Global Startup Ecosystem Research and Mapping Center.

“These titles are not only proof of the city's right direction, but also clearly demonstrate Da Nang's pioneering role in the national strategy for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development.

In the coming time, the city hopes that experts and scientists will continue to research, promote the application of science and technology into practice, gradually commercialize research results, link research results with innovative start-up activities, in order to contribute to the socio-economic development of the city, building Da Nang city into one of the major socio-economic centers of the country and Southeast Asia with the role of a center for start-ups and innovation according to the orientation of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo", the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee emphasized.

At the ceremony, the city leaders awarded certificates of merit from the Chairman of the City People's Committee to organizations and individuals with outstanding achievements in science and technology activities, including: authors and groups of authors of 3 inventions and 2 utility solutions granted protection certificates; authors and groups of authors of 19 works winning the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award; authors and co-authors of 49 scientific articles published in prestigious scientific journals.

At the same time, the City People's Committee Chairman awarded certificates of merit to 9 collectives and 9 individuals with outstanding achievements in innovative start-up activities in 2024.
