On the evening of August 27, at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, the State-level preliminary rehearsal of the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2, took place.

In a solemn atmosphere, heroic spirit, with neat formation, decisive steps and a spirit of readiness, the armed forces and the masses demonstrated careful preparation and determination to contribute to the success of the great national holiday.
The rehearsal started at 8:00 p.m. and lasted nearly 2 hours, with the participation of the following forces: Traditional torch bearer and fire guard; ceremonial artillery force; background force; and parade and marching force. Of which, the parade force includes 43 marching parade groups (26 from the Army, 17 from the Police); parade groups of foreign armies; military vehicles, artillery , special police vehicles; parade force at sea; 13 mass parade groups. The vehicles with the symbols: National emblem, portrait of President Ho Chi Minh , model of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. The standing forces as the background include: Guards on the podium and 29 standing blocks (18 armed force blocks standing opposite stand A; 11 mass blocks standing on both sides of the newly added armed force blocks from August 21); forces forming shapes and letters. After the torch-carrying, flag-saluting, and fireworks ceremonies, the Party and national flags passed through the stage one by one.
The parades and marches were assessed to ensure that the horizontal and vertical formations were basically even, beautiful, and unified, demonstrating the strength of the people's armed forces and great national unity.
