Urgently completing logistics work for the 80th National Day Celebration on September 2

To prepare logistics for the 80th National Day Celebration on September 2, Hanoi authorities have mobilized more than 838,000 cakes, more than 950,400 bottles of purified water, 220,000 cartons of milk and more than 212,700 bottles of various types of bottled water, and 80 tourist vehicles to transport delegates. It is expected that on September 2, Hanoi will have about 6,600 more delegates from 33 provinces and cities attending, and the number of additional vehicles mobilized will be about 180-200.

On August 27, the Material and Logistics Subcommittee for the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam held a meeting to report on progress. Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen, Head of the Subcommittee, chaired the meeting.

Prepare all resources, ensure security and power supply

At the meeting, the logistics contents were reported by the units on the progress of implementation. Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade has completed the preparation of necessities. By August 27, the Department had mobilized more than 838 thousand cakes, 950,484 bottles of purified water, 220,000 cartons of milk and 212,792 bottles of bottled water of all kinds. This number exceeded the proposed plan. The plan for distributing necessities has been assigned specifically. The handover was completed before the preliminary review on August 27, the final rehearsal on August 30 and the parade on September 2. The units also developed a transportation plan in both rainy and dry conditions.

The Hanoi Youth Union presided over the reception and distribution at 75 locations, serving delegates along the 10 km parade route. The warehouse was located right behind the supply point, with carts to support transportation.

Regarding power supply, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of EVN Hanoi, said: "The work has been reviewed, specific plans have been developed for each event and each activity point. At the same time, drills have been organized. The three key areas are Ba Dinh Square, the Exhibition area and the points directed by the Central Government, which are considered the most important".

At Ba Dinh Square, the power supply system is 100% guaranteed from the grid, generators and UPS. The final items have been installed. The Exhibition Area is connected to the source of the Technical Center, ensuring power supply for the LED lighting system of Hanoi Television. The fireworks display locations have also been prepared. 17 streets serving the event have been arranged with enough power sources.

After two training sessions, EVN Hanoi has learned from the experience of people climbing up to watch. This unit has arranged 300 people to be on duty along the streets to guide and ensure safety. 11 new tents have been announced to have completed power supply. Storm prevention work is also focused, especially in low-lying areas. The goal is to ensure safe and continuous power supply for people and events.

Raising community awareness

Also at the meeting, a representative of the Capital Command said that in reality, there are disputes over seating. The great demand for public sanitation and waste treatment is also a problem. This unit proposed to arrange more mobile toilets and trash cans at crowded places. At the same time, activate all water and essential supply points to a total of 75 points. It is necessary to specify the time and responsibility of each department. The purpose is to ensure close coordination and avoid overlap.

The Department of Industry and Trade has completed the Souvenir and Gift Exhibition Fair at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. Spaces, miniatures, and models of the Hanoi Traditional and Creative Space Exhibition are being constructed at the National Exhibition Center. The Department of Tourism has been implementing a series of tourism, cultural, and historical activities in Hanoi 2025 with the theme "Red Ba Dinh". 80 tours, routes, and unique tourism products have been completed and announced to serve the people and tourists.

After two training sessions, when it rains, a large amount of waste such as raincoats and waste paper is generated, affecting the aesthetics. The representative of the Capital Command proposed to coordinate the collection and cleaning up in a synchronous and quick manner. This is to avoid the recurrence of unsanitary conditions and ensure the image of the Capital on the important holiday. At the same time, it is necessary to propagate so that people can proactively maintain hygiene and order.

A representative of the Department of Construction said that, in the conditions of prolonged rain, the work of drainage is actively implemented. However, this is still difficult due to the large amount of water in lakes and rivers in the city. The Department ensures drainage on the A80 event routes before 12 noon on the same day, in the condition of forecasted rain of about 20-30ml.

Hanoi Transport Corporation has prepared 80 tourist vehicles to transport delegates. This unit has sent documents to 65 related departments and units. The operating route from the pick-up points to Ba Dinh Square and vice versa has been built. It is expected that on September 2, there will be about 6,600 more delegates from 33 provinces and cities attending. The Corporation will mobilize an additional 180-200 vehicles to serve.

From August 12, 2025, 6 additional bus routes have been deployed to the Exhibition Center. During peak days (August 28 - September 5), 18 routes with more than 700 trips/day are expected to serve the needs of visitors. The unit also implements the City's direction on increasing bus routes and exempting tickets for subsidized public passenger transport (bus/metro).

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen acknowledged and commended the efforts of the units. Many tasks were completed, exceeding the plan. He emphasized: "This is a festival for the people". He requested the units to actively participate with the highest determination. Ensure that activities, logistics, and distribution of necessities take place smoothly and safely, serving the people most attentively. Arouse the atmosphere and spirit of the country's great holiday.

Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen also stated: activities from preliminary review (August 27), final rehearsal (August 30); Opening Ceremony of the National Achievements Exhibition; and September 2 - the official ceremony at Ba Dinh Square, are decisive to the overall success. Units are required to closely follow the program, implement on schedule, operate smoothly and efficiently. Any problems must be promptly reported and handled immediately. At the same time, combine environmental protection propaganda, distribute garbage bags with the message "For a green capital". This contributes to enhancing the image of a civilized and modern capital.
