After more than 2 weeks of press coverage, 70 tons of candy in La Phu (Hoai Duc district, Hanoi) still has about 40 tons that have not been processed. The railway safety corridor next to this giant landfill is also a place where waste is collected.
According to Dan Viet's records on the morning of February 18 in La Phu commune (Hoai Duc district, Hanoi), garbage is still scattered on the main road of La Phu commune. Currently, the "mountain" of candy trash is surrounded by tarpaulin, trucks carrying goods are parked and surrounded.
It is estimated that the height of the landfill is still higher than a person's head, causing serious environmental pollution.
La Phu is located in the West of Hanoi, one of the famous craft villages in the North specializing in the production and trading of confectionery, especially during the Lunar New Year. The landfill is located right on the main road, with many vehicles passing by. This is also the loading and unloading point of La Phu Industrial Park.
According to research, to handle the landfill, the local government hired a specialized unit, Urban and Industrial Environment Joint Stock Company 10 (Urenco 10), to collect and handle it.
It is estimated that about 70 tons of waste has been dumped at the landfill in La Phu Industrial Park. So far, authorities have collected and destroyed about 30 tons of waste.
The area where workers gather, sort and process waste is located right next to the giant garbage mountain.
This area is surrounded by corrugated iron, inside there is also a mountain of trash with dozens of chickens digging, looking for food.
According to Dan Viet, on the morning of February 18, there were 3 workers collecting and processing waste.
On the morning of February 18, a part of the giant garbage mountain was cleared. It is estimated that there are still about 40 tons of candy waste. It is known that in order to track down the subjects who dumped a large amount of expired candy and sausages into the landfill, the local authorities extracted the camera and collected some images of the subjects dumping expired candy in the area. However, up to now, the authorities are still using professional measures to accurately identify the subjects and then handle them according to the provisions of the law.
Opposite the landfill, Ha Thai Railway Joint Stock Company also put up a sign prohibiting dumping garbage on the railway.
However, it is noted that the railway running through this area has a lot of garbage.
The railway safety corridor in this area is also a waste collection site.
