On May 26, it has been 5 days since the landslide in Chi Thanh railway tunnel, Tuy An district. The construction unit has been working overtime, day and night to fix the landslide. However, the latest information shows that the landslide here has many new developments, so the troubleshooting work is currently facing many difficulties. Therefore, Vietnam Railway Corporation said that it cannot confirm the exact time of tunnel opening.

To overcome the landslide incident in the Chi Thanh railway tunnel, the railway industry and related units have mobilized 110 workers, officers and many vehicles to deploy 3 construction teams working continuously 24/24 hours. Of which, 2 teams are working on the North and South of the tunnel, the remaining team is drilling geologically from the top down to the tunnel to spray concrete down... For nearly 5 days, workers have maintained shifts at the scene, making efforts to clean up and overcome the landslide; striving to clear the train as soon as possible. However, the most difficult thing now is that the scope of the sinkhole is very large, much wider than the Bai Gio tunnel ( Khanh Hoa ), so the workload is much larger.

Up to now, in the south of the tunnel, the construction unit has drilled 30 anchor holes and pumped concrete to reinforce the tunnel, with 10 more holes to be completed, but currently the remaining 10 holes are facing many difficulties due to obstacles. At the northern tunnel entrance, the construction unit has brought out 160/260 m3 of soil and rock inside. Outside the tunnel, concrete has been poured into 2 holes drilled from the top to the landslide location. Another hole is being drilled, but concrete will be pumped after the train is cleared... Thus, the sinkhole is much larger than initially estimated, so the railway industry must continue to increase anchor holes and reinforce the tunnel to ensure safety. Therefore, the tunnel opening time is still unknown, but related units are making efforts to open the Chi Thanh railway tunnel as soon as possible.
