Regarding the electricity supply situation in the first 6 months of 2025, the total electricity output of the entire national system is estimated at 156.4 billion kWh, 3.04% higher than the same period in 2024, reaching 45% of the 2025 plan. The largest consumption capacity of the national power system reached 51,672 MW recorded on June 2, 2025, 5.7% higher than the same period in 2024.

In 2025, the economic growth target is 8%; from 2026 onwards, striving for even higher growth, the demand for electricity of businesses, people and the whole economy will be very large. Therefore, it is necessary to be prepared to provide electricity for socio-economic development and people's lives; develop a plan to operate the system and provide electricity closely following reality, meeting the growth demand with safe, stable and continuous conditions.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien requested units and localities not to be subjective in electricity production and supply; continue to strictly implement the Government's direction on solutions to ensure electricity for production and business; proactively plan and urge the progress of power source and grid projects according to the adjusted Power Plan VIII.
