Kia Telluride, which was introduced in Vietnam, is about to launch a new generation.

Kia's famous large SUV Telluride, which was launched in Vietnam, will have a new generation that is larger and likely to be equipped with a new hybrid powertrain.

Six years ago, the Kia Telluride was billed as a large, luxurious SUV that would put the Ford Explorer to shame. That assessment proved correct as the vehicle quickly became the second best-selling product of the Korean car brand Kia.

At the same time, the Kia Telluride is also one of the best-selling three-row SUVs in the US market. Although many things have changed since 2019, the appeal of the Kia Telluride has not decreased. On the contrary, sales of this model have increased steadily every year and are expected to set a new record in 2025.

That’s a pretty impressive feat for an SUV that’s already been around for a while. But that hasn’t stopped Kia from preparing to launch a new generation of the Telluride. Kia has released the first images of the vehicle and confirmed that the new Telluride will debut at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show, which opens on November 20.

The Korean automaker has not yet revealed much information about the 2026 Telluride. However, paparazzi have "captured" the new generation of this model on the test track. In this change, the Kia Telluride will have a more streamlined appearance, hidden door handles, angular exterior details, thick C-pillars and a honeycomb grille.

Kia designers also created vertical headlights with prominent C-shaped graphics for the top-selling large SUV in the US. In addition to the standard version, paparazzi also caught a more aggressive version, similar to the Hyundai Palisade XRT Pro. This version is identified by a unique front bumper, integrated red tow hooks, a raised suspension system and large off-road tires.

In terms of engine, the 2026 Kia Telluride is expected to have two new options, the first is a 3.5L V6 gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 287 horsepower and a maximum torque of 352 Nm.

Compared to the 3.8L V6 engine with a maximum capacity of 291 horsepower and a maximum torque of 355 Nm currently used for this model, the new gasoline engine is a bit weaker.

In addition, Kia is also expected to introduce the new Telluride Hybrid, using a 2.5L, turbocharged, 4-cylinder gasoline engine, a 1.65 kWh battery and two electric motors integrated in a 6-speed automatic transmission.

This hybrid powertrain can bring a total output of 329 horsepower and a maximum torque of 459 Nm for the car. More importantly, the fuel consumption of the 2026 Kia Telluride is expected to exceed 12.7 km/l (about 7.8 liters/100 km) on the highway.

In Vietnam, the Kia Telluride was introduced by THACO Auto in November 2022 and has an expected price of about 2.7 billion VND. However, up to now, this large SUV has missed its appointment with the Vietnamese market while its brother Hyundai Palisade has been assembled and officially distributed.
