Viettel has just officially launched the program "Viettel's Year of the Rooster, too much data to use forever" in the form of a mobile vehicle, aiming to bring 5G technology directly to people in the Mekong Delta region.
5G Bus Spreads Technology to Users
The program is a follow-up to the campaign to give away 6 GB of free data that attracted more than 1 million new subscribers, bringing Viettel's total number of 5G users to nearly 8 million.
The special bus officially departed from Can Tho on June 17, 2025, then passed through more than 160 stops in six provinces including Can Tho, Vinh Long, Ca Mau, Dong Thap, Kien Giang and An Giang . The journey is designed to reach from the city center to familiar places such as floating markets, schools, parks and densely populated residential areas.

Not just introducing technology, Viettel's bus is designed as a lively interactive space. With a distinctive red color scheme, the bus integrates digital experience, entertainment and shopping areas, bringing a modern, close and accessible feeling. This is no longer a traditional form of marketing but a concrete step to make 5G a part of everyday life.
Experience technology in a fun and engaging way
At each stop, people are invited to participate in a variety of hands-on experiences. They can try out the 5G network to watch livestreams, access high-speed data, or participate in interactive games such as the voice game “Dataoke” - where players shout “data da ta” loudly for a chance to win prizes. Viettel said it has prepared nearly 60,000 summer gifts such as ice cream, sun gloves, travel bags, and phone accessories to give away during the trip.

In addition, users can also experience AI through the latest Galaxy A phones equipped right on the car. Technical guides will help people get acquainted with new features, making technology less unfamiliar, especially for older users or those with little exposure to smart devices.
In addition to the experience, Viettel also launched a promotion program for customers who buy devices at the stops. When buying a phone, users will receive a free Viettel SIM card with a 300 GB high-speed data package. Those who register for the service on the spot will also receive tickets to participate in the 5G Loto show lucky draw program held in each province along the route.
Special packages, special services for the West
To serve users in the Western region, Viettel introduced the SD125T package with a capacity of 300 GB per month, allowing unlimited high-speed Internet access per day. This package was developed based on the actual needs of the locality, where students, small businesses and workers tend to use more data than traditional voice calls.

The ecosystem that comes with the package is also optimized for learning and entertainment needs, from online learning platforms to video-on-demand services. Viettel representatives said that the products are built not only to introduce technology but also to solve practical problems in the daily life and work of people in the West.
Viettel Telecom Deputy General Director Nguyen Ha Thanh emphasized that this campaign is part of the plan to implement Resolution 57 on digital economic development. Viettel not only provides infrastructure but also brings access to technology to all regions. Organizing the 5G bus is not simply a promotion but a practical step to help rural people quickly integrate into the rapidly developing digital economy.
5G Loto show stirs up the West
A notable highlight of the campaign is the series of 5G Loto show events held in each province where the bus stops. In Can Tho, the program will take place at 6pm on June 28 at Ben Ninh Kieu Park. The event promises to attract a large number of local people with a vibrant atmosphere and attractive prizes.
The first prize is a Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 128 GB phone worth nearly 17 million VND. The second prize is two Galaxy A06 5G phones. There are also 30 consolation prizes with practical gifts such as travel bags, helmets and phone accessories. People can follow the detailed schedule and gift information via Viettel fanpage in each locality.
Viettel's 5G technology vehicle is considered an innovative step in popularizing technology in Vietnam, especially in areas that do not have equal access. With a flexible, close and practical approach, Viettel shows that technology can completely reach every small alley, to every citizen through familiar methods.
