(PLVN) - Chiều 19/3, UBND tỉnh Kiên Giang tổ chức tổng kết công tác đầu tư công năm 2024 và triển khai nhiệm vụ năm 2025, tiến độ thực hiện các dự án trọng điểm trên địa bàn tỉnh.

In 2024, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province has allocated detailed public investment plans to each unit in accordance with regulations. Accordingly, it has assigned 7 detailed phases and adjusted and supplemented 4 phases for projects eligible for capital allocation; allocated detailed capital for each project category to departments, branches, sectors and localities to reach 100% of the plan for 3 National Target Programs.

The 2024 public investment plan is 1.2 times higher (VND 1,274,160 billion higher in value) than the 2023 plan. Under the strong leadership and direction of the Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee and recognizing the high sense of responsibility, determination and efforts of departments, branches, localities and investors in implementing and completing the 2024 public investment plan.

The disbursement results of national target programs in 2024 have many positive changes, the disbursement rate is 5.46% higher than the same period in 2023. There are 5 provincial-level units and 4 district-level units with a disbursement rate of over 95% of the plan, many units have positive changes compared to the disbursement rate in the first 6 months of the year; 12 provincial-level units and 9 district-level units have a disbursement rate higher than the provincial average of 75.22%.

The leaders of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee have also promptly given their opinions to remove difficulties and obstacles for investors. At the same time, they urged units to promptly complete investment procedures to hand over 100% of the public investment capital plan in accordance with regulations; at the same time, they directed departments, branches and localities according to their functions and tasks to have proactive and flexible solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles to help investors and Project Management Boards. Thereby promptly correcting limitations and shortcomings, creating favorable conditions for the implementation and disbursement of public investment capital in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province gave a speech at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kien Giang province Nguyen Thanh Nhan said that with the policy of merging administrative units of the Central Government, localities must maintain their spirit and focus on performing assigned tasks. Localities will review projects that are under construction and have not yet started and forward them to 2026 to report to the Department of Finance for advice to the Provincial People's Committee. Projects that are still stuck in site clearance must be completely resolved by the end of April 2025 at the latest.

“Specialized departments and branches should review their human resources to ensure that their tasks are carried out in accordance with procedures and regulations. At the same time, they should strengthen coordination and prioritize resources to speed up compensation and site clearance, especially in localities with key projects. Investors should pay attention to selecting quality contractors to carry out projects and works,” said Chairman Nguyen Thanh Nhan.
