On the afternoon of October 8, many people working at an 11-story building on Dien Bien Phu Street, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City panicked and fled down the stairs when a fire broke out in the basement parking area.

Black smoke billowed from inside the basement. The building’s security guard used a mini fire extinguisher to put out the fire and called on everyone to move their vehicles out of the basement to prevent the fire from spreading. Many people helped the security guard move many vehicles from the basement to the street.

The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department, Ho Chi Minh City Police, mobilized vehicles and officers to the scene to put out the fire. Dien Bien Phu Street was blocked off to assist in firefighting. After a short time, the fire was extinguished. The fire did not cause major damage to the basement parking area. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
