Kimmich criticizes Arsenal: 'All set pieces and long balls'
Joshua Kimmich admitted Arsenal deserved to win 3-1 in the Champions League, but insisted Arteta's team wasn't the toughest opponent Bayern had faced this season.

Bayern's unbeaten run at the Emirates Stadium came to an end after goals from Jurrien Timber, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli. Despite this, Kimmich maintained a clear stance when speaking to TNT Sports . “No, I don’t think Arsenal are the strongest team we’ve ever faced,” he said. “PSG are the hardest. Their style of play is completely different.”
Kimmich believes Arsenal won because of their more calculated style of football: “They relied heavily on set pieces. They liked to play long balls and contest second balls. Against PSG, you get the feeling it was a real football match. Today it wasn't quite like that.”
Timber opened the scoring from a corner kick taken by Bukayo Saka, while Martinelli sealed the victory with a counter-attack stemming from a long ball. For Kimmich, this was proof of the difference in style between the two teams.
“The game was a battle of tempo control and tackling. Arsenal did better. They deserved to win, and Bayern need to learn from this,” he concluded.
These remarks came just hours after Arteta declared Arsenal had beaten “the best team in Europe.” A subtle, yet chilling, reminder from the German captain.
