Swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang won the third gold medal at the 2025 National Swimming Championship

On the evening of October 7, Nguyen Huy Hoang continued to win the men's 800m freestyle event, bringing home the third gold medal for the Quang Tri swimming team at the 2025 National Swimming Championship.

Nguyen Huy Hoang won the men's 800m race with a time of 8 minutes 2 seconds 54.

Behind him are Nguyen Quang Thuan (8 minutes 10 seconds 08) and Tran Van Nguyen Quoc (8 minutes 10 seconds 61).

This is Nguyen Huy Hoang's third gold medal at the 2025 National Swimming Championship. Previously, Huy Hoang was unrivaled in the men's 1,500m and 400m freestyle distances.

Nguyen Huy Hoang, born in 2000, is the most talented male swimmer of Vietnam, with a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games in the men's 1,500m freestyle. From 2017 to now, Huy Hoang has always won gold medals in his strong events at the SEA Games.

In early October, Nguyen Huy Hoang made history for Vietnamese swimming when he won two gold medals at the 2025 Asian Swimming Championships in India in the 800m and 1,500m distances.

Also on the fourth day of the 2025 National Swimming Championship, Tran Duy Khoi won the gold medal in the men's 50m backstroke with a time of 26.06 seconds, and Tran Hung Nguyen won the gold medal in the men's 200m medley with a time of 2 minutes 3.87 seconds.

Ho Chi Minh City delegation continues to lead the medal table, with 1 more gold medal won in the 400m mixed relay in each category for men and women.
