Timely disbursement of policy credit capital to help people restore production after floods

After the flood, the Transaction Office of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) in Phu Yen organized compensation transactions and enhanced transactions to promptly disburse capital to people to overcome the consequences, restore production and stabilize their lives.

Accordingly, the compensated transaction points include Hoa Tri 1, Binh Kien 1 (old Ward 9) and Tuy Hoa 3 (old Ward 5). At the same time, additional transaction points were opened in Hoa Thanh, Phu Yen (old Phu Lam), Tuy Hoa 1 (old Ward 2) and Tuy Hoa 2 (old Ward 4).

Increasing transaction frequency helps banks process applications quickly, ensuring people have early access to capital for reproduction.

In a short time, the Phu Yen Social Policy Bank Transaction Office has simultaneously disbursed many preferential credit programs. In particular, the unit disbursed three loan programs for poor, near-poor and newly escaped-poverty households to 33 households with a loan turnover of 1.3 billion VND. For the credit program for students in difficult circumstances, the bank disbursed 600 million VND to 18 households, helping them not to interrupt their studies.

Notably, the loan program to support job creation, maintenance and expansion achieved the largest disbursement of VND 15.7 billion, helping 360 workers restore production and business after floods.

Mr. Le Anh Nhan, Deputy Director of the Phu Yen Social Policy Bank Transaction Office, said that as soon as the flood receded, the unit reviewed the damage in the localities, increased work with entrusted unions, savings and loan groups to grasp the capital needs of borrowers.

“After the recent floods, many households in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen and Binh Kien wards were severely affected. Property, crops and livestock were damaged; production and business activities were stagnant; life faced many difficulties. Therefore, from November 24 until now, in addition to compensating for the flood period, the unit has also organized increased transactions to transfer capital to people as soon as possible,” Mr. Nhan emphasized.

The quick and flexible implementation of post-flood transaction sessions once again affirms the role of the Social Policy Bank in accompanying people to overcome difficulties, contributing to stabilizing social security in the area.
