The experimental model was carried out at Mr. Tran Van Doan's household (Ea Knop commune) with a cultivation area of 2 hectares for each cassava variety. The two cassava varieties were planted from May 2025 and are currently at the stage where the tubers begin to form starch.

On the local grey soil, both cassava varieties grow and develop well. In addition to the advantages of being 100% resistant to mosaic disease and having many tubers, each cassava variety exhibits its own characteristics. In particular, the HN1 cassava variety has few branches, high starch content, and an expected yield of about 50 tons/ha. The HN5 cassava variety has many branches, short internodes, is planted at a higher density, and has an expected yield of 40 tons/ha.

At the field workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Minh guided farmers on the process of cultivating two cassava varieties resistant to mosaic disease, from preparing cuttings, planting methods, planting density to harvesting and preserving seedlings after harvest. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Minh also provided detailed information on how to care for, prevent weeds and some common pests and diseases; and how to create multiple stems for cassava plants to produce many tubers and high yields.

Farmers participating in the field workshop also directly observed and experienced two new cassava varieties and asked questions about the cultivation process, variety characteristics, season... to choose the variety suitable for their family's cultivation conditions and local soil and weather.

It is known that mosaic disease has only appeared in recent years and is recognized as the most dangerous disease on cassava. With HN1 and HN5 varieties, the risk of cassava mosaic disease has been basically eliminated. However, to ensure that cassava grows well, has high yield and starch content, farmers still need to pay attention to monitor some major pests and diseases such as red spider, pink mealybug, witches broom, bacterial leaf blight... for prevention.

The two cassava varieties HN1 and HN5 were recognized for circulation by the Department of Crop Production, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development from April 2021. From January 2023, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Minh began testing, researching and building a complete intensive cultivation process to help factories, companies and cassava growers across the country to apply cultivation, replacing old varieties without disease-resistant genes.

Up to now, the project team has carried out many testing models of cassava varieties HN1 and HN5 and has transferred them to many farmers for successful planting with high yield and good quality, contributing to increasing farmers' income.
