According to Sacombank 's online deposit interest rate table at this time, the end-of-term interest rate for 1-month deposits is only 3.7%/year, 2-month deposits are 3.8%/year and 3-month deposits are 3.9%/year.
For 4-5 month term deposits, the interest rate is slightly higher at 4.2%/year. However, this interest rate is still much lower than the ceiling of 4.75% set by the State Bank for VND deposits with terms from 1-5 months.
Also for online deposits with end-of-term payments, Sacombank is applying a 6-month term interest rate of only 5.5%/year. This is one of the first banks to bring the interest rate down to below 6% for this term.
For mobilization terms of 12 months or more, Sacombank is applying over 6%/year for these terms.
According to VietNamNet's survey, interest rates at other banks also remain unchanged.
This is the second time in October that no bank has reduced deposit interest rates.
Since the beginning of October, 16 banks have reduced deposit interest rates, including: BIDV, VietinBank, HDBank, BaoViet Bank, Techcombank, SeABank, Viet A Bank, PG Bank, VietBank, Dong A Bank, Vietcombank, LPBank, Nam A Bank, CBBank, ACB and Bac A Bank.
Of these, Viet A Bank and Bac A Bank are the banks that reduced interest rates twice this month. On the contrary, there was one bank that increased deposit interest rates, GPBank, on October 4.
