Continuing the ninth extraordinary session, on the morning of February 18, under the direction of Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, the National Assembly voted to pass the Law on Government Organization (amended) with a high approval rate; 463/465 National Assembly deputies participated in the vote in favor, accounting for 96.86% of the total number of National Assembly deputies, the National Assembly officially passed the Law on Government Organization (amended).

The Law on Organization of the Government (amended) passed by the National Assembly consists of 5 chapters and 32 articles regulating the position and functions of the Government. The Law stipulates: The Government is the highest state administrative body of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, exercises executive power, and is the executive body of the National Assembly. The Government is responsible to the National Assembly and reports on its work to the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee, andthe President . This Law takes effect from March 1, 2025. The Law on Organization of the Government No. 76/2015/QH13 has been amended and supplemented by a number of articles under Law No. 47/2019/QH14 and Law No. 20/2023/QH15, which cease to be effective from the date this Law takes effect.

Next, the National Assembly discussed and voted to pass the Resolution of the National Assembly on the organizational structure of the Government for the term of the 15th National Assembly (amended); the structure of the number of members of the Government for the term of the 15th National Assembly (amended). Heard the presentation and the report on the examination of the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the organization of the agencies of the National Assembly; the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended).

In the afternoon, continuing the session's agenda, the National Assembly voted to elect the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and members of the National Assembly Standing Committee; approved the Prime Minister's proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers and other members of the Government for the 2021-2026 term.
