The 35th session of the 13th Provincial People's Council approved the Planning Projects of Dung Quat Economic Zone.

On the morning of May 27, the 13th term People's Council of Quang Ngai province, term 2021-2026, held the 35th Session (special session) to review, comment and approve a number of key planning projects in Dung Quat Economic Zone. Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Cao Phuc chaired the Session.

Approval of 02 major planning projects in Dung Quat Economic Zone

Based on the Proposal of the Provincial People's Committee, after careful discussion, the Provincial People's Council voted to approve the 1/2000 scale Construction Zoning Plan for Dung Quat II Urban, Industrial and Service Area and the 1/2000 scale Construction Zoning Plan for Dung Quat Eastern Industrial Park.

Dung Quat II Urban, Industrial and Service Area has a scale of more than 1,496 hectares, spread across Binh Tan Phu commune (Binh Son district) and Tinh Phong commune (Son Tinh district). This is an area that plays an important role in developing high-tech industry, environmentally friendly multi-industry industry, combining urban areas and support services. This area also plays the role of the southern gateway of Dung Quat Economic Zone, connecting with Quang Ngai city and neighboring areas through main traffic routes such as: Hoang Sa - Doc Soi road, Bac Tinh Phong - Binh Chau road, Eastern Economic Road, and N6 route.

Meanwhile, the Dung Quat Eastern Industrial Park has a planned area of ​​about 3,731 hectares, located in the communes of Binh Dong, Binh Thuan and Binh Tri (Binh Son district). This area is oriented to develop heavy and energy industries, such as: oil and gas, steel smelting, shipbuilding, along with supporting industries, logistics services and warehouses associated with Dung Quat seaport. The technical infrastructure system of the industrial park is planned to be modern, ensuring separation between production areas and residential areas, focusing on environmental protection and harmonious landscape architecture.

Focus on implementing key tasks

Concluding the session, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van emphasized that the current time is a key stage in the process of completing the organizational arrangement at district and commune levels, preparing for official operation from July 1, 2025. Therefore, the implementation of planning projects needs to go hand in hand with the work of perfecting the organization, in order to ensure efficiency in socio-economic development.

Provincial Party Secretary, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also requested the Provincial People's Committee and departments, branches and localities to urgently implement political tasks according to plan, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles. In particular, it is necessary to prioritize the implementation of key projects and works; disburse public investment capital on schedule; focus on growth targets and people's quality of life.

The Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the Provincial People's Committee to strictly implement the Central Government's instructions on preventing and combating smuggling, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement; and to have appropriate solutions to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic. At the same time, complete the synthesis of people's opinions on amending the Constitution and promptly report to the Government and the National Assembly before May 31, 2025.

The Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council also informed that at the end of May 2025, the Provincial Party Standing Committee will approve personnel for 55 communes and Ly Son Special Zone, as a basis for implementing leadership work from July 1, 2025. The Provincial Party Secretary expressed his expectation: "Regardless of any working position, the comrades who are transferred and appointed must clearly identify that our actions are for the socio-economic development of the province, for the benefit of the people of Quang Ngai".
