baophutho.vn Leaving the remote border area, saying goodbye to the Border Guard soldiers, we returned to our homeland. Here, there are families, wives, and mothers who are always ready to shoulder all the difficulties in daily life, creating a solid rear so that the soldiers can work with peace of mind, holding their guns firmly to protect the border.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union, Provincial Fatherland Front, and Doan Hung district presented gifts to poor women in Ta Ba commune, Muong Te district, Lai Chau province.

Firm rear

According to Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hoang - Deputy Commander of the Border Guard Command of Ha Giang province, there are currently 122 officers and soldiers from Phu Tho working at the Border Guard Command of Ha Giang province and stations in the province. Among them, many comrades hold leadership and command positions in units, typically: Major Nguyen Cong Son - Chief of Son Vi Border Guard Station (from Cao Dien commune, Ha Hoa district); Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hung - Political Commissar of Lung Cu Border Guard Station and Major Nguyen Binh Minh - Political Commissar of Bach Dich Border Guard Station (from Phu Ninh commune, Phu Ninh district); Lieutenant Colonel Do Dai Thang - Chief of Xin Man Border Guard Station (from Cao Xa commune, Lam Thao district) and comrades Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dong, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Phuong...

To help comrades feel secure in their work, promote their strengths, and excellently complete all assigned tasks, in addition to the attention and leadership of the unit commander and the efforts of the comrades themselves, the rear in their hometown also plays a very important role.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thinh - wife of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dong happily shared about her children's academic achievements.

We visited the house of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thinh - Quang Trung area, Gia Cam ward, Viet Tri city, wife of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dong, Political Commissar of Xin Cai Station when she had just returned from a tour with her children. Ms. Thinh is currently a teacher at Hoa Mai Kindergarten, Viet Tri city.

She shared: This year marks 20 years since Dong and I got married, but the time we spent together was probably only 2 years. Before, when I fell in love and decided to marry him, I knew my husband would often be away from home. However, when he shared stories about life on the border and the love of border guards, I determined that I had to be a solid support so that my husband could work with peace of mind.

With three children and a husband far from home, Ms. Thinh always tries to arrange her work reasonably, taking care of housework, office work and teaching her children to study. For many years, their children have been excellent students and good children of Uncle Ho. In particular, their eldest daughter - Nguyen Phuong Anh has won many high prizes in provincial competitions for excellent students in English.

Like Ms. Thinh, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen - Math teacher at Tu Da High School, wife of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Hung - Political Commissar of Lung Cu Border Post, has spent many years taking care of the family while her husband was away on business.

She said: She and her husband have been in love and married for nearly 20 years. Before getting married, he told her that his job was closely linked to the border area, and that as his wife, he would have to endure, accept, and sacrifice more than other women. Understanding these hardships, but because of her love for the green uniform of the soldier, she overcame everything to build a happy family with him. And although the whole family only rarely had a short time together, their small home was always filled with love and laughter.

I would like to send my best wishes to you and your comrades working in the border areas, wishing you and your colleagues good health, good work, and peace of mind and trust in the homeland.

Towards the frontier

Not only is family a solid support, over the years, agencies, departments, organizations, and localities in the province, especially the Women's Union at all levels in the province, have had many activities towards the border areas.
Specifically, the Standing Committee of the Phu Tho Provincial Women's Union has directed the Women's Unions of districts, cities, towns, and the Provincial Police Women's Union to coordinate with the sister Border Guard stations and local Party committees and authorities to do a good job of propaganda and mobilization for cadres, women's union members, and people in border communes to properly implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.

Continue to disseminate legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border; the National Border Law; the Vietnam Border Law; the Project "Strengthening the dissemination and education of law for officials and people in border areas"; Resolutions of the 12th and 13th National Party Congresses; Resolutions of the Women's Congresses at all levels; Resolution 11-NQ/TW of the Politburo on women's work in the period of national industrialization and modernization; disseminate the Law on Gender Equality, the Law on Marriage and Family, the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, the Population Ordinance..., disseminate to raise awareness, not to believe, not to listen to the propaganda of hostile forces, attracting free migration and illegal proselytizing.

Promote propaganda and guidance for women in border areas to organize their lives, develop family economy and solve some urgent social issues related to women and children such as: Eradicating illiteracy, early marriage and incestuous marriage; preventing and combating domestic violence, drugs, crimes; illegal entry and exit across the border. Mobilize women to actively participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; propagate people not to participate in planting, trading, storing and illegally using drugs and addictive substances; mobilize, persuade and reform drug addicts to voluntarily detoxify in the community...

Integrate propaganda and education on the meaning and traditional values of the National Border Defense Day (March 3) and the founding day of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20) so that members and women clearly understand the good history and traditions, thereby clearly defining their obligations and responsibilities to actively participate in protecting the territorial sovereignty and border security of the Fatherland.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Minh Phuong with his wife and children.

In particular, to effectively carry out the work of the military rear, the Provincial Women's Union has creatively implemented the program "Accompanying women in the border areas" associated with the twinning activities with Lai Chau Border Guards. The Union at all levels organized 25 working delegations to visit, encourage, and give funds to support livelihoods and scholarships; activities to support cadres, women's union members, and children in Lai Chau province's border communes and soldiers of the Border Guard Stations with a total budget of over 4.2 billion VND. The Union at all levels supported the construction and repair of 16 "Shelters of Love"; donated 35 livelihood models to poor women union members; equipment for border patrol and protection; donated over 1,600 gifts to poor women and children; Sponsored 2 orphans... Donated 3,096 national flags and 2,306 photos of Uncle Ho to households in the border area of Lai Chau province, with a total value of over 200 million VND.

Comrade Pham Thi Kim Loan - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, President of the Provincial Women's Union said: In the process of organizing and implementing the program "Accompanying women in the border areas", the Provincial Women's Union and all levels of the provincial Women's Union have always received attention, facilitation, and support from all levels, sectors, businesses, and philanthropists. Thereby, it has gradually raised awareness for cadres, members, and women in participating in building and protecting sovereignty and border security; supported, assisted, and created opportunities for women in border areas to have more long-term livelihoods, solve employment, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, create motivation, and will to rise up; practically contributed to building a strong grassroots political system, consolidating the people's hearts, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Border Guard Command, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, and Party committees and authorities at all levels. Hopefully, those feelings will continue to spread further, contributing to encouraging border soldiers to firmly hold their guns to protect the sacred land and sky of the Fatherland...
