On November 27, 2014, Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs were recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This recognition not only honors the stature and cultural value of Nghe An, but also honors generations of Nghe Tinh people who have created and nurtured a cultural heritage that has gone down in human history.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a Plan to organize commemorative activities to concretize the action program to protect and promote heritage values ​​and implement the commitment of the Vietnamese Government to UNESCO; strengthen propaganda and promote heritage values, honor cultural identity, introduce the image of Nghe An homeland to domestic and international friends.
