Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Anh Chuc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Duc Toan, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Nguyen Minh Tien, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission; Trinh Hong Phong, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Nguyen Duc Vuong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Xuan Huy, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council. Also attending were representatives of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors and a large number of cadres and reporters from central and local press agencies.
At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the 100-year journey of establishment, development and contribution of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press to the development of the nation. In that flow, Ha Nam press has always played the role of the mouthpiece of the Party Committee, the government, and the people's forum, constantly innovating content and form, improving the quality of propaganda, and actively contributing to the cause of local socio -economic development.
Currently, Ha Nam Newspaper publishes 6 printed issues per week, with 10,000 copies per issue; Ha Nam Electronic Newspaper publishes more than 6,000 news and articles per year, produces hundreds of television products, clips, photo libraries, etc. Ha Nam Newspaper TV channel broadcasts 24 hours a day, covering the whole country via cable system and digital platform. The radio channel rebroadcasts 15 hours a day, covering the entire province and neighboring areas. Song Chau Magazine - the mouthpiece of the province's artists, maintains regular publication every 2 months.
At the ceremony, delegates watched the documentary “Ha Nam Press Firmly Enters the New Era” to better understand the formation, development process and the silent but proud contributions of Ha Nam Press in the 100-year flow of Vietnam Revolutionary Press.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Chuc, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, praised and highly appreciated the achievements of press agencies, generations of leaders, reporters and journalists of previous generations who paved the way, laid the foundation, and contributed to the development of the provincial press. He also affirmed that, in line with the development of the press nationwide, over the past time, the revolutionary press of Ha Nam province has continuously grown in all aspects. The quantity and quality of publications, types of press, radio and television programs have been increasingly improved and have high professionalism. The information posted is increasingly rich, diverse and attractive. The content posted is timely and focused; the direction and management activities of the province as well as of departments, branches, units and localities are updated regularly, with complete, timely and accurate information.
Press publications and programs are the bridge to bring the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to the people; at the same time, they reflect the people's thoughts and aspirations; the recommendations and criticisms of the press have helped the province make many innovations in the economic, cultural and social fields. In particular, the team of journalists in the province is also an active factor in building and promoting the image of the homeland and people of Ha Nam to domestic and foreign friends; and is a vanguard force in propagating and mobilizing investment attraction for the province.
Entering the New Era - the Era of national development, sets new and higher requirements for revolutionary journalism, requiring the press to develop accordingly, develop together with the nation, and be worthy of professional, humane, and modern journalism. Especially in the context of implementing the policy of streamlining the organization of the political system, merging commune-level administrative units, and merging administrative units of Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, and Ninh Binh provinces into Ninh Binh province. The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the provincial press agencies to continue to promote the fine traditions of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism, closely follow the principles and purposes, and focus on overcoming limitations in journalism activities to fulfill political tasks well. Press agencies and journalists need to go deep into the grassroots, stick closely to the realities of life, take the lead in promoting patriotic emulation movements, discover typical factors, set examples of good people, good deeds, good models, creative, practical and effective ways of doing things with many works rich in theory and practice, attracting readers.
Accelerate the implementation of the digital transformation strategy for journalism; maximize the advantages of social networking platforms, apply artificial intelligence as well as achievements of science and technology in journalism activities. Organize the editorial office into a large data center of the province; need to delve into issues of local identity to develop a stable and regular readership. This is also a necessary premise to prepare for sustainable steps in digital transformation, restructuring and moving towards a journalism economy based on revenue from readers.
Provincial press agencies and central press agencies in the province, based on their functions and tasks, continue to closely coordinate with the province; effectively organize the implementation of professional ethics regulations for journalists; focus on education, enhance social responsibility and civic duty for journalists. Further strengthen the management, guidance and censorship of press information to improve the effectiveness of press activities; regularly pay attention to training and fostering a team of journalists and publicists with solid political qualities, good expertise, clear professional ethics and social responsibility.
At the ceremony, 14 outstanding journalists of the province through the ages were honored.
