At the meeting, speakers, experts, and famous journalists discussed many contents about the development process of journalism, especially in the digital transformation period.

The press must be a "beacon" of information.
Reviewing the development process of the press, Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Hai Binh, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized that the press in the world has gone through a period from the 21st century to the present with very rapid developments: The emergence of the internet, websites, followed by the integration of multimedia, multi-platforms, converged newsrooms, digital transformation...
However, although the world press develops very quickly and is strongly influenced by science and technology, readers still have to find a place to rely on as an "anchor of faith" which is the mainstream press. About 40% of people still look forward to finding mainstream press, wishing to hold a printed newspaper in their hands. It is very gratifying that this is not only the desire of the elderly, but also of the young. Typically, many young people lined up to receive a special supplement of Nhan Dan Newspaper on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Highly appreciating the theme of session 1: “Vietnamese press in the new era: Vision for creating development space” in the event celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, Associate Professor, Doctor, journalist Le Hai Binh said that, looking back over 100 years, the Revolutionary Press has many special and proud marks. First of all, it is the revolutionary nature of the Vietnamese press; the deep concern of our Party and State for the press sector, especially demonstrated through mechanisms and policies that create conditions for the press to develop strongly, contributing effectively to the overall development of the country.
Discussing the challenges facing journalism in the new era, journalist and media expert Le Quoc Vinh said that journalism is currently competing with social media platforms and social media users, with the speed of information sharing on social media being very fast. However, the public still often verifies information on mainstream media. Therefore, journalism needs to seek the trust of the public and readers based on the truth.

According to journalist Le Quoc Vinh, the press cannot be a copy of social networks, but must be a "gatekeeper", a "lighthouse" to help the public choose the official information they need to read and should read.
Journalist Le Quoc Vinh also explained many important contents for the press today, such as promoting the development of creative and solution journalism, thereby promoting social change and development. The press can absolutely be the center of connection and interaction; creating forums to fill information gaps. The press must also create open forums, increase public participation and build loyal communities...
There is still much room for press development.
Discussing the content of digital transformation of journalism, journalist Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Director of the News Center, Ho Chi Minh City Television Station, said that in the next 10 years, journalism needs to be "Refined, compact, strong, efficient, and effective".
Specifically: Journalists must be sophisticated; press agencies must be compact; processes must be efficient; operating models must be effective; aiming for a humane and modern press. In which, humanism is to serve the goal of a rich people, a strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization. Each press agency must be strong to have a strong press group, build a community, help people and businesses, and promote policy implementation.
Journalist Nguyen Thanh Hoa emphasized that modernization means breaking stereotypes and stereotypes in both content and form. Creating a new reality for journalism means creating positive changes in the interaction between journalism and cyberspace. Technology, innovation and digital transformation are opening up new avenues of information…
At the event, speakers, experts, and journalists interacted with the audience and young journalists about digital transformation of journalism; about the work of journalists in the era of AI technology development; how to make electronic news sites have space in the new era...
Journalist Tran Dang Tuan believes that with the development of digital technology, we are facing the opportunity to improve the quality of journalism, while journalism tends to combine and integrate into media events... - these are possibilities that can contribute to increasing revenue for press agencies.

Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors - FPT University, stated that with the strong development of AI today, popularizing AI and applying AI in journalism activities is very important. Besides, readers always need information from official and honest sources - that is the space for journalists to promote the noble qualities of revolutionary journalists.
The speakers said that AI can write news faster than journalists, but with some genres like investigation, AI cannot surpass journalism, because AI is not creative and has no emotions.
