106th Anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia (November 7, 1917)

106 years ago, an event that shook all of humanity, under the leadership of the Russian Bolshevik Communist Party headed by VI Lenin, the masses of working people, soldiers and workers of Russia rose up to overthrow the Provisional Government of the bourgeoisie, the Mensheviks and the so-called "social revolutionaries", established the Soviet government of workers, peasants and soldiers, opening a new era for Russia and all of humanity.

Workers' government

On November 7, 1917, for the first time, workers, peasants, and the oppressed and exploited working masses, under the leadership of a new type of political party of the working class, rose up to smash the yoke of the landlords and capitalists. The October Revolution carried out the mission of liberating the working masses from all oppressive and exploitative regimes, bringing them from the status of hired slaves to the status of owners of society. With the October Revolution, for the first time in history, the right to self-determination of nations was realized in a country. This revolution brought factories to workers, land to farmers, peace and friendship to nations, equality, freedom, and happiness to all. Commenting on this issue, Ho Chi Minh pointed out that the Russian October Revolution: “Is the greatest victory of the working class, the working people and oppressed nations led by the working class and its vanguard, the Bolshevik Party. The Russian October Revolution used revolutionary violence to overthrow the bourgeoisie and the feudal landlord class, establish a government of the working people, and build a completely new society, a society without exploitation of man by man.” That is the greatest and true human rights value of the October Revolution. The Russian October Revolution in 1917 has entered human history as a great event with profound resonance and influence, shaking and upsetting the world order, determining the development direction of human society. Affirming its significance, stature and great value, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: “Like the brilliant sun, the October Revolution shines across the five continents, awakening millions of oppressed and exploited people on earth. In human history, there has never been a revolution with such great and profound significance.”

The path to national salvation for the people

This was also the first time that the alliance of workers, peasants and soldiers, under the leadership of the working class, rose up to overthrow the Tsarist regime, establishing the Russian Soviet State - the first worker-peasant state in the world. Following the example of the Russian October Revolution, oppressed peoples around the world rose up to fight for national independence and chose the socialist path to build their countries. Real socialism, from its victory in one country, developed into a world system. The Russian October Revolution influenced leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, making the people follow Marxism-Leninism, finding a way to save the nation. That is why the historical significance of the Russian October Revolution brought many experiences to the world revolution and had a close relationship with the national liberation movements in the East. The success of the Russian October Revolution in 1917 added strength to the Vietnamese people, leading the Vietnamese people on the path of national salvation outlined by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc. The Russian October Revolution has entered human history as a great event, with profound resonance and influence. Unlike many revolutions in the world, the October Revolution not only changed Russia and had significance for the people of the Soviet Union (formerly), but it also had profound international significance. For Vietnam, the value of the Russian October Revolution in general, the humanistic value for the cause of human liberation, has important significance, deciding the victory of the Vietnamese revolution later.
