The patriot Phan Boi Chau was born in 1867 in Xuan Hoa commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An. He initiated many patriotic movements such as Duy Tan association, Dong Du association, Viet Nam Quang Phuc association... attracting the participation of all classes of people. Phan Boi Chau also played the role of a cultural ambassador between Vietnam and Japan, becoming a bridge for cultural, scientific and educational exchanges between the two countries.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that Phan Boi Chau was a passionate patriot, a great culturalist and thinker, leaving deep marks in the history of Vietnam. His personality, his revolutionary enthusiasm, his love for his homeland will forever be engraved in the memories of millions of Vietnamese people and in the heroic pages of history and the nation. The Deputy Prime Minister requested Nghe An province to continue to preserve the relic site well, creating a red address to attract, gather, educate patriotism, educate and promote the cultural, patriotic and revolutionary traditions of Nghe An. Also on this occasion, Nghe An province started construction of Phan Boi Chau's statue in the Phan Boi Chau Memorial Area in Nam Dan Town.
