Milestones
Starting on September 23, 1980, from Tran Cao Van 2 High School, Phan Boi Chau School was established to meet the learning needs of children in Tam Ky area.
In the 1990s, due to changes in the student population in the area, Phan Boi Chau High School had to accept secondary school students from two secondary schools, Le Van Tam and Le Thi Hong Gam, in Tam Ky town. In that context, the school switched to a new educational model: Secondary and High School.
In August 1993, implementing Resolution TW4 of the 7th Party Central Committee on "socializing education" and "diversifying education types", Phan Boi Chau Secondary and High School was once again transformed into Phan Boi Chau Semi-Public High School.
From September 2009 to present, according to the Education Law, our country's education system only has two types of schools: public and private. Therefore, on August 31, 2009, Phan Boi Chau Semi-Public High School officially converted to a public school, Phan Boi Chau High School.
Over the past four decades, the school has had to change its type four times. After each change, Phan Boi Chau High School encountered many difficulties in organization as well as the psychology of the staff, teachers, students and parents. There were times when everyone thought it was impossible to overcome those harsh challenges.
During the semi-public system, there were times when the monthly salary was not enough to cover the teachers' expenses, and there were even months when there was no source to pay. The facilities were lacking, and there were also problems with the mechanism, such as when a sick person could not be treated.
In such a situation, the quality of students entering the first grade is also very low. The disadvantage in enrollment leads to a lot of confusion in teaching and learning.
Difficulties piled on difficulties, but with courage and enthusiasm, the school's Pedagogical Council overcame obstacles and challenges. The most valuable thing of the collective of cadres, teachers and employees of Phan Boi Chau School is solidarity, joint efforts, and unanimity to overcome themselves and contribute to building the school to develop as it is today.
Human resources are the root
In reality, if the school wants to maintain sustainable development, the first thing it must do is invest in human resources. Therefore, the school's leaders have paid great attention to building a team of teachers and staff with good moral qualities and professional capacity; with a high sense of responsibility and solidarity to support each other in all aspects.
In investing in the quality of human resources, the role of improving teachers' qualifications cannot be overlooked. The school has created conditions for young teachers to study for postgraduate degrees and improve their professional skills, thereby improving the quality of the team, contributing practically to the innovation of methods, bringing positive results in teaching and learning.
Currently, the school's staff has 1 PhD, 13 masters and 66 bachelors, with good moral qualities, professional capacity, enthusiasm and dedication to the profession.
The school also has 18 teachers and staff who have been awarded certificates of merit by the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education and Training . Every year, many teachers achieve the title of grassroots emulation fighters and advanced workers, and are awarded certificates of merit and certificates of merit by the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training; there is 1 second prize at the national level for excellent library staff.
If the measure of a high school is the maturity of its students, then Phan Boi Chau has the right to be proud.
Over the past ten years, the average graduation rate has been 95.7%; in 2023-2024 it reached 100%; in 2024-2025 it was 99.75%.
More and more students are entering top universities. Many of the school’s students become associate professors, doctors, and masters of science at home and abroad; some become successful businessmen.
From 2015 to present, the school has had 262 excellent students at the provincial level bringing home the golden board of achievements...
With these achievements, the school has received many certificates of merit from the Ministry of Education and Training and the People's Committee of Quang Nam province (old). In particular, in the 2005-2006 school year, the school was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the President and a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister in the 2012-2013 school year.
The 45th anniversary of the school's founding is also an occasion for generations of teachers and students to gather, to review the happy and sad memories of a memorable journey.
Nearly half a century of construction and growth, the school named after patriot Phan Boi Chau has always been associated with important milestones of the education sector and the overall development of the country.
