Explore local culture and life

Experiencing the local culture is an essential part of the trip. Ham Ninh fishing village is still bustling with seafood restaurants along the coast, where dishes are prepared in traditional kitchens. Visitors can enjoy fresh seafood in the rustic atmosphere of the fishing village.

In the evening, Phu Quoc night market at the intersection of Bach Dang and Nguyen Dinh Chieu streets is still open from 5pm to 11pm. The stalls use rechargeable lamps, flashlights or small generators for lighting, creating a unique space. This is an ideal place to explore street food with grilled seafood, coconut ice cream, rolled ice cream and many other attractive snacks.

In addition, pepper farms, honey production facilities and rose myrtle gardens in Cua Duong, Ganh Dau still welcome visitors. Tourists can learn about the production process, try the products and buy specialties as gifts. Traditional fish sauce factories are also interesting destinations, where visitors are introduced to the typical anchovy fermentation process.

Attractions have backup power systems

Many large tourist areas, relics and resorts in Phu Quoc have been equipped with large capacity generator systems, ensuring that all activities are not interrupted.

The Phu Quoc Prison historical site is still open to visitors as usual. The backup power system ensures stable operation of the exhibition area and simulation area, helping visitors have a complete visiting experience.

In the North Island, despite being an area heavily affected by the power outage, large-scale entertainment and resort complexes such as Phu Quoc United Center are still operating vigorously. With the model of a "city that never sleeps", this place brings together shopping centers, food streets, art performances and many activities taking place all night, ensuring that visitors always have options for entertainment.

Most large resorts also have generators, which keep the pools, restaurants and spas running, providing comfort to guests.

Important note for visitors

To have a smooth trip during this time, visitors should note the following points:

  • Prioritize the South Island: This area is less affected by power outages and has many outdoor attractions.
  • Prepare a spare battery: Bring a spare charger for personal electronic devices.
  • Check with the property: Before booking, contact the hotel or resort to ask about backup power systems.
