47TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST PUBLISHING OF LAM DONG NEWSPAPER (August 19, 1977 - August 19, 2024): Special contributors of Lam Dong Newspaper

Since the first issue of Lam Dong Newspaper was published on August 19, 1977, over the past 47 years, Lam Dong Newspaper has continuously consolidated, improved, innovated, and strived to successfully complete its assigned political tasks. Along with that, Lam Dong Newspaper is also a place for artists, photographers in general and in the southern districts and cities... to send their "brainchild" to the public.

During my visits to Da Teh, I met writer Nguyen Thanh Huong, a writer with many works and won many important awards in the genres of short stories and novels. In 2023, writer Nguyen Thanh Huong wrote an article in Lam Dong Newspaper with special feelings for the newspaper: "I am attached to the writing profession thanks to Lam Dong Newspaper".

In the article published in the newspaper, author Nguyen Thanh Huong confided that his first news article was published in Lam Dong Newspaper in May 1991: “At that time, Mr. Pham Vinh was the Editor-in-Chief of Lam Dong Newspaper, he wrote a letter of encouragement to me. I was very happy, and continued to write about economic , cultural and social activities in Da Teh locality. From then until now, 32 years, through the Editor-in-Chiefs of the Newspaper, Mr. Pham Vinh, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dam, Mr. Nguyen Van Huong and Ms. Ho Thi Lan, I still write and send.”

Writer Nguyen Thanh Huong affirmed that thanks to Lam Dong Newspaper and some other newspapers, he learned a lot of valuable information and gained more knowledge. With the works introduced, he was admitted to the Vietnam Writers Association in 2012.

In 2024, on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of Lam Dong Newspaper's first issue, writer Nguyen Thanh Huong expressed her utmost affection for the newspaper and continued to devote herself to creating good works published in the weekend issue.

Not only is it a place to bring poetry, literature, and short stories to readers, Lam Dong Newspaper also has a Beautiful Photo Corner section that posts images of photographers whose works are about the homeland in general and their feelings for Lam Dong through each frame.

Artist Nguyen Van Thuong's feelings about the photo "Highland Flame" that he took and published in Lam Dong Weekend Newspaper

Artist Nguyen Van Thuong, currently living in Bao Loc City, said: "Around 1998, I had my first photo published in Lam Dong Newspaper with the title "Reaching High"; this is a photo I took during the construction of Bao Loc City Post Office. Since then, I have always sent my works, my "brainchild", to be published in the Beautiful Photo Corner section of the Newspaper."

Artist Nguyen Van Thuong shared: Currently, I can post photos I have taken on personal pages and social networks, but having photos posted on Lam Dong Newspaper is a different value; especially when holding a paper newspaper with my photo works in hand is a very happy thing. Lam Dong Newspaper is not only a place to foster and convey photo works to the public, but also a place to preserve beautiful memories of the passage of time.

Artist Nguyen Van Thuong confided that he entered the photography profession before 1990, and until now he still keeps many photos published in Lam Dong Newspaper. When talking about photography with some young photographers in the city of tea and silk, in addition to expertise and photography techniques, he always uses photos published in Lam Dong Newspaper or literary and artistic magazines as concrete evidence; thereby, describing and analyzing the work in a detailed and specific way.

On the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the first issue of Lam Dong Newspaper, Artist Nguyen Van Thuong sent his sincere feelings and best wishes to the staff of Lam Dong Newspaper. He said that in the coming time, he will continue to create quality works and continue to collaborate with Lam Dong Newspaper. Artist Nguyen Van Thuong also hopes that Lam Dong Newspaper will select photos of young authors to publish, contributing to fostering the passion for photography for those who love to capture moments.

Bao Loc City Literature and Arts Association has 42 members; of which, there are 4 members in Di Linh and Bao Lam districts, including majors in Literature, Photography, Music, and Fine Arts. Recently, many authors in the southern districts and cities of Lam Dong province have had their poetry and music works published and introduced in Lam Dong Newspaper.

Writer Ninh The Hung - Head of the Bao Loc City Literature and Arts Association said: "The artists in Bao Loc City and districts such as Di Linh and Bao Lam are always attached to and have special affection for Lam Dong Newspaper. Personally, for about 20 years now, I have always collaborated and had poems, short stories, and memoirs published in Lam Dong Newspaper. Writers such as Nguyen Khuong Trung, Tran Dai... have many works published in Lam Dong Newspaper. In addition, musicians such as Thu Huong, Tran Huu Dong... are also introduced and have their musical works published in Lam Dong Newspaper".

As special contributors to Lam Dong Newspaper, artists and photographers in the Southern region always respect Lam Dong Newspaper and the Editorial Board for choosing to publish and introduce their works, their "brainchildren" to readers and the public.
