Celebrating the 78th anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces' traditional day (August 19, 1945)

Born in the revolutionary movement, educated , trained, organized and led by the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, the People's Public Security force has gradually grown and matured, absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, the Party and the Vietnamese People.

78 years for the Party, for the People

Over the past 78 years, the loyalty of the People's Public Security force has been demonstrated in its deep awareness of revolutionary ideals, steadfastness in Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought and the path to socialism; steadfastness in the absolute, direct and comprehensive leadership of the Party in all aspects of Public Security work; resolutely fighting against erroneous viewpoints, protecting the purity of Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, protecting the Party's platform and guidelines, the State's policies and laws; upholding the spirit of being ready to sacrifice oneself for the independence, freedom, sovereignty , unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland. During his lifetime, the late General Secretary Le Duan once said: "The Party assigns the Public Security the task of protecting the Party, the Public Security must see that the Party assigns its destiny to it. Therefore, the Party chooses the Public Security from among those most loyal to the Party, those who only know how to live and die for the Party, only know that as long as the Party exists, they exist". Over the past 78 years, the People's Public Security force has always kept in mind that it comes from the People, therefore it has always been closely attached to the People, serving the People, relying on the People to work and fighting to victory. The entire force has thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented the teachings of beloved President Ho Chi Minh: "Our Public Security is the People's Public Security, serving the People, relying on the People to work", always fully aware of the great historical role of the masses in the cause of protecting national security, considering this one of the factors that determines the strength of the People's Public Security.

Throughout its history of development, the People's Public Security from the central to local levels has always carried out well the slogans of action: "Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people", "Staying awake so that the people can sleep well, staying awake so that the people can have fun, taking the joy and happiness of the people as the reason for living", "Doing a good deed for the people every day"...; taking care of building the movement "All people protect national security" associated with implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas"; thereby, educating police officers and soldiers to behave in a cultured manner when interacting and working with the people; being modest, enthusiastic, polite, respectful of the elderly, loving children, respecting women, helping the disabled; truly receptive, listening to criticism and suggestions from the people to correct their shortcomings. Regularly uphold the revolutionary spirit, resolutely fight against criticism, overcome indifference, coldness, authoritarianism, arrogance, and causing trouble for the people.

Serving the Fatherland, serving the People

At any time, the People's Public Security force must constantly cultivate and practice the moral qualities of diligence, thrift, integrity, uprightness, impartiality, and have a clean, healthy, honest, and objective lifestyle. The morality of diligence, thrift, integrity, uprightness, impartiality, and impartiality requires each Public Security officer and soldier to build a clean, healthy, and diligent lifestyle in labor, production, study, and work; to be frugal in the use of time, funds, budget, and State assets; not to take advantage of positions and powers to seek personal or group interests; not to embezzle, bribe, or appropriate public assets; to be upright, honest, truthful, self-respecting, to distinguish right from wrong, to respect and protect the truth and reason; to have an objective, meticulous, and cautious working style, not to let the enemy escape, and not to wrongfully accuse innocent people; Regularly self-criticize and criticize, overcome shortcomings and defects, cultivate and improve revolutionary moral qualities, worthy of being a sharp dictatorial tool of the Party and State, and beloved children of the People. There are countless police officers and soldiers who are willing to accept material disadvantages to pursue the spirit of integrity, nobility, fairness, and uprightness, to increasingly strengthen the people's trust in the People's Police force.

Today, on the front of the struggle against crime, security and order protection, the blood of police officers and soldiers is still shed, hundreds of police officers and soldiers have sacrificed, thousands of comrades have been injured while on duty. Each achievement, feat, each example of good people, good deeds, each dedicated effort of police officers and soldiers has contributed to maintaining peace and stability of the country, discipline and law are strictly observed; property, life and peaceful, happy life of the people are protected. The outstanding achievements, feats and maturity and growth of the People's Police force have been diligently cultivated and promoted by generations of police officers and soldiers through revolutionary periods, creating a glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Police force.

78 years accompanying the country, going through revolutionary stages and important historical events, the People's Public Security force has not been afraid of difficulties and hardships, always upholding the spirit of dedication, ready to sacrifice for the country, taking the interests of the Fatherland and the People as the ideal and highest goal to strive for, devoting all its strength, intelligence and even its life to protect the Party, the State, the socialist regime, protecting the peaceful and happy life of the People, making worthy contributions to the cause of national liberation, building and protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
