Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Thang - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department praised the contributions of press agencies to the cause of building and developing Lam Dong province and shared the difficulties and challenges that the Journalists Association, press agencies, media and journalists are facing, especially the fierce competition with cross-border platforms and social networks.
The Head of the Propaganda Department requested press agencies and members and journalists to continue the mission of revolutionary journalism: Accompanying the nation, performing better the function of ideological orientation, being a sharp weapon, refuting distorted, toxic, and untrue information from hostile forces, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation, protecting national and ethnic interests.

At the same time, continue to perform well the role of supervision and criticism; provide accurate, timely and honest information; discover and commend new factors, advanced models; good people and good deeds in the spirit of using beauty to eliminate ugliness, using positivity to push back negativity, creating motivation, inspiration, and spreading in the community and society; effectively promote the role of transmitting official information to readers and audiences; closely follow the inevitable trends in world journalism and media to innovate; promote digital transformation of journalism.
The Provincial Journalists Association needs to continue to closely coordinate with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Information and Communications and other agencies and organizations in the province to be more proactive in orienting the press and supporting information and propaganda activities of the press team; strengthen political training, professional expertise and professional ethics for reporters and journalists; focus on protecting journalists, the right to practice their profession legally and the legitimate interests of journalists.
This year, the 19th Lam Dong Provincial Press Awards had many quality works. The winning works all had high journalistic value, honestly and comprehensively reflecting all areas of social life. Many works had ideological value, orientation, humanity, contributing to the building of comprehensive human development.
Mr. Pham S - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Press Award Council acknowledged the contributions of the works participating in the award; at the same time, suggested that in the coming time, journalists need to exploit new topics such as the construction of the expressway in Lam Dong, the digital transformation process, Da Lat building a global creative city, the work of building new rural areas, and poverty reduction.
Press agencies need to increase exchanges to learn in order to improve the quality of their works and improve the quality of the annual Lam Dong press awards.
The 19th Provincial Press Awards Council awarded 6 second prizes, 9 third prizes and 18 consolation prizes. Of which, the second prize in the television category included 2 works: Bringing online public services closer to the people by the group of authors from the Column and Arts - Entertainment Department, Lam Dong Radio and Television Station and the work "The Political Illusionists" by authors Duc Huy, Le Tien of Department PX03 - Lam Dong Provincial Police. The second prize in the radio category was the work "Meeting Nap Tuors" by author Minh Lan - Lam Dong Radio and Television Station.
Second prize for printed newspapers includes 2 works: Improving the quality of Party development work among rural youth by author Viet Quynh - Lam Dong Newspaper and the series of articles Lam Dong creates a comprehensive digital transformation model by author Diem Thuong - Lam Dong Newspaper.
The electronic newspaper category has 1 second prize with the work "Complete Oath with the Party" by authors Diem Thuong, Ngoc Nga - Lam Dong Newspaper.
At the ceremony, authorized by the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Lam Dong Provincial Journalists Association acted as the focal point, chairing the launch of the 1st Central Highlands Journalism Award - 2023. This is an opportunity for the press to discover and introduce many advanced examples in the life, production and fighting of the people of the 5 Central Highlands provinces; at the same time, encouraging and motivating journalists to join hands and continue to contribute to the cause of Vietnam's Revolutionary Journalism.
On this occasion, the Provincial Journalists Association awarded the Medal for the cause of Vietnamese journalism to comrade Bui Thang - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; comrade Pham S - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and 5 members of the Lam Dong Journalists Association.
