Quang Tri: Warning of danger around 4m wide sinkhole

On the afternoon of June 15, the leader of the People's Committee of Gio Linh town (Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province) confirmed that a large sinkhole had just been discovered in the residential area.

According to initial information, at noon of the same day, the family of Mr. Trinh Thai Nhat (residing in Ha Thuong quarter, Gio Linh town) discovered a sinkhole with a diameter of about 4m appearing right in their garden. The depth of the hole is currently unknown, and the risk of further subsidence remains.

A large sinkhole was recently discovered in Mr. Trinh Thai Nhat's garden.

To ensure safety, the town People's Committee has directed the neighborhood to urgently notify residents, especially children, not to go near the sinkhole area. At the same time, it is recommended that neighboring households check their premises and promptly report if they discover a similar situation.

The local authorities also asked Mr. Trinh Thai Nhat's household to proactively evacuate people and property to a safe place, and limit people from accessing the pit area to avoid danger to people and property.
