Celebrating the 15th Vietnam Theatre Day

On September 11, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Stage Artists Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 15th Vietnam Stage Day in 2024 and the National Stage Ancestor's Death Anniversary (August 12, Giap Thin year), with the participation of many generations of stage artists.

Speaking at the ceremony, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, President of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, said that August 12 (lunar calendar) every year is a traditional day for Vietnamese stage artists to remember the immense merits of their ancestors and ancestors of the stage arts who overcame all social prejudices to create unique and valuable forms of stage art, enriching the national cultural identity.

This is also an opportunity for artists to express their gratitude to the public and audiences who have accompanied the performing arts, contributed to preserving and conserving the quintessence of national performing arts, and contributed to the development of Vietnam's revolutionary performing arts.

In particular, the Vietnam Theatre Day and the National Theatre Ancestor Commemoration Ceremony in 2024 are also organized for artists to further strengthen solidarity, the spirit of mutual love, to accompany and share losses and damages, and to encourage people to overcome the consequences of the storms and floods taking place in the northern provinces.

According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, in recent times, the Association has made efforts to unite and create many remarkable and valuable achievements. First of all, it has reflected sensitively, promptly, honestly and deeply the reality taking place in the country's life, creating many plays with high value in terms of ideological content and artistic expression, and the power to move people's hearts.

The Association has also paid attention to and created conditions for the team of authors to penetrate reality, opened creative camps, organized many seminars and discussions of profound theoretical and scientific nature, and at the same time organized professional training for generations of artists, especially young artists, organized art festivals to create opportunities for artists to learn and improve their professional skills...

People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui also believes that in the coming years, with many important events of the country and increasingly serious and strict demands from the audience, the performing arts need to pay special attention to enhancing the cultural level of works, building and creating great works that both reflect new elements of today's reality and meet the reception and enjoyment needs of the majority of audiences.

Also at the ceremony, the artists solemnly performed the death anniversary ritual; awarded commemorative medals to units and individuals who have made many contributions to the development of Vietnamese theater; and admitted new members.
