Lady Gaga sets record with 2.1 million audience in one performance

Lady Gaga set a new career milestone when she performed in front of 2.1 million spectators at Copacabana Beach, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

This is the largest audience ever for a female artist in history. The show marks Lady Gaga's first return to Brazil in 13 years.

Fans, many of them young, arrived at Copacabana Beach from dawn, patiently waiting all day under the blazing sun to get the best position facing the stage where their idols performed. Security was tight with about 3,300 military personnel, 1,500 police officers, and 400 firefighters.

In front of a raucous crowd, singer Lady Gaga thanked all her fans for making history in what was considered the most spectacular performance of her brilliant career.

With more than 2.1 million spectators, Lady Gaga's show officially surpassed the previous record held by singer Madonna, which was 1.6 million viewers, also at Copacabana beach in May 2024.

Brazilian police said on May 4 that they had successfully prevented a bomb plot planned to target the "historic" concert of singer Lady Gaga.

Rio de Janeiro state's Civil Police, in coordination with the Brazilian Justice Ministry , foiled a terrorist plot orchestrated by a group that promoted hate speech and radicalized youth, including those who indulged in self-harm and advocated violent content as a form of social cohesion.
