The background of the naked suspect who injured 6 people in Ho Chi Minh City

Regarding the case of a naked man slashing a series of people in Ho Chi Minh City and then committing suicide, District 3 Police in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City Police have now clarified the identity of the suspect.

Accordingly, this person was identified as G. (23 years old, from Hau Giang , temporarily residing in Thu Duc City). G. works at an ice facility in Hiep Binh Chanh Ward, Thu Duc City.

Police suspect that G. committed the crime while under drug-induced hallucinations.

Specifically, on the morning of October 16, G. and his brother went to deliver ice to a business in District 3. While his brother was delivering the goods to the customer, G. stood waiting, acting abnormally. After that, G. took off his clothes, grabbed a knife from a knife and machete seller who was pushing a cart past, and used it as a weapon to attack a series of people on the street.

Initially, G. stormed into a coffee shop on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, Ward 2, District 3, and attacked the people present, causing them to flee in all directions. G. moved along the street with a knife and continued to attack other people.

When the police arrived and arrested him, G. took a knife and moved to Ban Co market and stabbed several other people.

After that, G. used a knife to injure himself in the neck and died.

About 6 people were injured by G., of which 1 person was seriously injured and had to be put on a ventilator, and the remaining 5 people were not in danger of death.

The police are still continuing to expand the investigation.
