Bank interest rates today 8/7/2025: Deposit interest rates at ceiling level become 'luxury'

Up to now, no bank has listed the maximum deposit interest rate, even for online deposit interest rates.

According to VietNamNet's statistics on online deposit interest rates of banks, the highest savings interest rate for deposits with terms of less than 6 months is 4.7%/year.

This is the bank interest rate that two banks are required to transfer, MBV applies to online deposits with a term of 4-5 months and VCBNeo applies to deposits with a term of 5 months.

In addition, Eximbank also listed a savings interest rate of 4.7%/year for online deposits with terms from 3 to 5 months on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays.

For savings opening on weekdays, from Monday to Friday, the highest savings interest rate for term deposits under 6 months at Eximbank is 4.5%/year, applied for terms of 3-5 months.

Currently, there are only 6 banks listing deposit interest rates from 4%/year for all terms from 1-5 months, including VCBNeo, Eximbank, Vikki Bank, MBV, VietBank and NCB.

In particular, VCBNeo leads the industry in deposit interest rates for these terms. Specifically, VCBNeo lists the bank interest rate for 1-month term at 4.35%/year, 2-month term at 4.35%/year, 3-4 month term at 4.55%/year and 5-month term at 4.7%/year.

There are 8 banks listing deposit interest rates from 4%/year for terms of 2 months or more, including the 6 banks mentioned above and BVBank,OCB .

Meanwhile, there are 14 banks listing deposit interest rates from 4%/year or higher for terms of 3, 4, and 5 months.

SCB and the Big4 banking group still maintain the lowest deposit interest rates in the market.

Currently, the interest rates for 1-5 month deposits at Vietcombank and SCB are both below 2%/year. BIDV and VietinBank list interest rates below 3%/year for these terms, while Agribank lists the highest interest rate of 3%/year for online deposits with a term of 3-5 months.
