Lam Binh makes tourism an important economic sector

Exploiting potential and strengths

After half a term of implementing the congress resolution goals, despite facing many difficulties and challenges, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, with great efforts and determination, the Lam Binh District Party Committee has focused on leadership to achieve important results, creating momentum to complete and exceed the targets set by the Congress Resolution. Notably, good control of the epidemic, tourism recovery and development are prominent.

Promoting the potential and promoting tourism development to become an important and sustainable economic sector of the district is one of the two breakthroughs set forth in the 2nd Resolution of the District Party Committee. After half a term of implementation, the tourism industry has had a clear change, initially forming tourist areas, destinations, and typical tourism products of the district, notably community tourism (Homestay).

The Hot Air Balloon Festival held in Lam Binh district attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.

The district focuses on implementing many solutions to promote tourism development such as: Strengthening propaganda, promotion, consolidating and improving the quality of tourism services in the direction of focusing on promoting the exploitation of the potential of unique natural landscape ecology and national cultural identity. Calling on businesses to invest and exploit tourist areas, destinations and types of tourism with potential and advantages; cooperating in investment and sharing benefits with households in the management and exploitation of community tourism. Thanks to that, Lam Binh district has attracted more and more domestic and foreign tourists to visit and experience, contributing to increasing income, improving and enhancing the lives of people in the district.

In addition to being supported for tourism development according to the province's policy, the district annually allocates a budget to invest in developing tourism infrastructure. From the local budget, the district invests in the construction and renovation of 6 projects including: Construction of power lines, drainage ditches, sidewalks and planting trees on the road from Thuong Lam Regional General Clinic to the foot of Keo Nang Pass, Khuon Ha Commune; planting landscape trees on both sides of the road from Khuon Ha Primary School to Keo Rao Pass, Khuon Ha Commune; investing in the construction of technical infrastructure works for the Lam Binh District eco-tourism area; embellishing the archaeological site of Na Them Temple, Ka No Village, Khuon Ha Commune...

To improve the quality of tourism, the district annually focuses on training human resources in tourism. Since the beginning of the year, by combining many sources of capital, the district has organized 3 training courses for more than 200 students who are businesses and tourism business households on tourism skills.

Comrade Cao Van Minh, Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Lam Binh district, said that the district has made good use of the existing advantages of the locality, gradually developing tourism in a sustainable direction, reflected in the constantly increasing number of tourists coming to the locality. Specifically, in 2021, the district welcomed over 79,000 visitors, with total social revenue from tourism reaching over 63 billion VND; in 2022, the district welcomed over 146,000 visitors, with total social revenue from tourism reaching over 131 billion VND; in the first 6 months of 2023, it welcomed over 82,000 visitors, with total social revenue from tourism reaching over 85 billion VND. The plan in 2023 is for the district to welcome about 151,000 visitors, equal to 75.5% of the term target.

Mr. Vu Van Chinh (Hanoi) shared "This is the second time I have come to Lam Binh, each time I come here I have more interesting experiences. In addition to enjoying the unique cultural features of the local people, I have experienced new tourist activities such as: Kayaking; cycling; exploring primeval forests, waterfalls, majestic caves; there are new interesting check-in photo spots...".

Sustainable tourism development

With the goal of welcoming over 200,000 tourists by 2025, social revenue reaching over 160 billion VND, Lam Binh is focusing on accelerating the construction of a specific tourism connection traffic system such as: Upgrading and renovating DT.188 road from Chiem Hoa district to Tho Binh commune; renovating and upgrading the traffic road of Lang Can town - Phuc Yen commune; renovating and upgrading DT.185 road from Thuong Lam General Clinic to the foot of Ai Au pass; Tat Nga road, Phuc Yen commune to the water wharf in Na Nam village; road from Na Tong intersection, Thuong Lam commune to Ben Thuy; road from Khuon Ha Primary School to Keo Rao pass; road from Na Vang village, Khuon Ha commune to Ben Thuy, Thuong Lam commune...

Coming to Lam Binh, visitors can enjoy culture and arts imbued with national identity.

At the same time, preserve, restore and promote traditional cultural values, historical relics, scenic spots; propagate, promote, innovate promotion work and improve the quality of tourism services; complete key tourism infrastructure projects (road from Khuon Ha Primary School to Keo Rao Pass; Ben Phung, upgrade infrastructure at community tourism sites). The district implements the Plan to rearrange tourism activities in Na Tong village, Thuong Lam commune and Nam Dip residential group, Lang Can town. Improve the quality of existing tourism products, form new and unique tourism products. Attract investors to develop tourism and services in the district.

Identifying tourism as an important and sustainable economic sector, in the coming time, the district will focus on training, attracting human resources and improving tourism skills for local human resources. Building and improving the quality of products and typical tours of the district such as community tourism; experiential tourism, exploring Na Hang - Lam Binh ecological lake; exploring caves, waterfalls, and primeval forests.

In addition, the district will strengthen protection, landscape and ecological environment improvement, plant more trees, and build a "Clean - green - beautiful - safe" Lam Binh tourist space to attract tourists to Lam Binh.
