
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh, Head of the Liaison Committee of Former Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War in Ho Chi Minh City, after 50 years of operation, the Liaison Committee of Former Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War in the city has been formed in wards, communes, towns, districts and cities. The liaison committees have organized many activities, creating opportunities for former political prisoners and prisoners of war to meet, support, share, visit each other in life, as well as organize many social security activities, participate ineducating traditions for the younger generation.
Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh said that in 50 years, the Liaison Committee and other departments have completed the records of prison policies for thousands of comrades. Along with that, the activities of the Liaison Committee for Former Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War at the district and county levels have clearly demonstrated their effectiveness in recent times.
“The Liaison Committee of Former Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War of Thu Duc District, City has fulfilled its role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights of its members as well as taking good care of and showing full affection for the former prisoners,” Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh affirmed.

At the conference, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh expressed her gratitude for the contributions of former political prisoners and prisoners of war during their journey to join the resistance war and even after the restoration of peace . The Liaison Committee has operated very effectively, organizing many activities to care for and support members in the past time.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh said that she will advise the City Party Committee to support in the best possible conditions so that the Liaison Committee's activities in the coming time will be better. Along with that, she will advise the City leaders to issue a document requesting communes and wards to establish Liaison Committees for former political prisoners and prisoners of war in communes, wards and special zones so that former prisoners have a place to continue their activities.
