In recent years, Tien Lang town (now Tien Lang commune) has encountered many difficulties in environmental sanitation. Waste is not classified at source, not collected, transported, and thoroughly treated every day; collection and transportation times are not fixed... leading to the situation of waste often accumulating in many different areas and locations in the area.
At its peak in July 2024, hundreds of tons of waste were left behind, stuck for a long time on many roads, residential areas, alleys, garbage stations and piled up in people's cemeteries, rice fields, etc., causing loss of aesthetics, environmental pollution and potential risk of disease outbreaks. This situation directly affects the living environment and daily activities, causing frustration among the people. Faced with this urgent issue, the People's Committee of Tien Lang district previously reported and requested the City People's Committee to consider directing and supporting the locality to resolve the situation of waste congestion and environmental pollution.
In July 2024, the City People's Committee issued a directive, assigning Hai Phong Urban Environment One Member Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Urban Environment Company) to promptly and thoroughly overcome the pollution situation, contributing to preserving a green, clean and beautiful environment for people in Tien Lang town. Receiving the task, the company established a scientific waste collection, transportation and treatment process, ensuring stable environmental sanitation work, the implementation period is from August to the end of December 2024. The company coordinated with Tien Lang district to urgently review and re-evaluate the organization of waste collection and treatment throughout the district and reorganize all household waste management activities in accordance with legal regulations.
The company also focuses on human resources, means, and applies waste management experience according to the green economic model, circular economy, and sustainability. To thoroughly clean up waste, the company organizes the collection of all waste that has accumulated for a long time in the area, especially in the people's cemetery area, rice fields, and returns the environment to a clean and airy environment. In addition, the company closely coordinates with local authorities and residential groups to organize propaganda, mobilize, and guide agencies, units, households, and people to classify waste at source, and dump waste on time and in the right place. The company builds and standardizes the process of collecting, transporting, and treating waste according to a fixed schedule and time, suitable to the conditions and characteristics of the locality.
In particular, the company focuses on training and transfer. The company organizes many professional training courses for the management team and workers of Tien Lang Environmental Group. The professional training content focuses on detailed instructions on propaganda and mobilization of people to classify waste; waste collection techniques to ensure occupational safety and hygiene, traffic safety, and production efficiency.
As a result, after 4 months of implementing the direction of the City People's Committee, by the end of 2024, the company contributed to standardizing and routinizing the entire system from collecting, transporting and treating waste in Tien Lang commune. Thereby, people gradually formed the habit of classifying waste every day, dumping and transferring waste on time, according to regulations, the quality of environmental sanitation improved significantly, ensuring cleanliness and beauty.
In 2025, based on the request of the local government, the company will continue to support Tien Lang commune to maintain environmental sanitation work in a systematic manner, in accordance with the 2-level local government model.
Up to now, Hai Phong Urban Environment Company has successfully completed the tasks assigned by the City People's Committee, as well as actively supported Tien Lang commune to create changes and ensure environmental sanitation. This result affirms the pioneering role of state-owned enterprises in solving urgent social issues related to environmental sanitation.
According to the representative of the Hai Phong Urban Environment Company, the company hopes that people in the commune will continue to classify waste at source, dump waste on time and in the right place, and join hands with the local government to build Tien Lang commune to be increasingly green - clean - beautiful - civilized.
On September 30, 2025, representatives of the Hai Phong Urban Environment Company and the People's Committee of Tien Lang commune signed a record of handover of waste management, collection, transportation and treatment activities in the commune.
