The Red Star Award – Young Vietnamese Entrepreneurs, after 13 editions, has honored more than 600 entrepreneurs with 127 prestigious Red Star titles. This year, Tay Ninh is proud to have a young entrepreneur who surpassed many candidates nationwide to be named the recipient of this prestigious award. To better understand that journey and effort, a reporter from Tay Ninh Newspaper and Radio and Television had an interview with the Vice President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association, President of the Tay Ninh Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thang Loi Real Estate Group, Duong Long Thanh - who was recently honored with the Red Star 2025 award.

- Interviewer: Mr. Thang Loi, the journey of building Thang Loi Group from a small business to a large, powerful multi-industry corporation like it is today must have been fraught with challenges. Could you share the biggest challenges and difficulties you faced during the startup phase, and what factors helped you overcome them?

Mr. Duong Long Thanh: When starting a business, the biggest challenge is not just capital, but also belief and strategic direction. We have always been steadfast in our vision of developing "Housing that suits the needs and affordability of the vast majority of people." It is this business philosophy, closely linked to serving society and building a corporate culture with five core values: TRUST - LOVE - EXCHANGE - CONNECTION - SERVICE, that has created the internal strength, helping me and the Group overcome all obstacles and challenges to achieve the proud results we have today.

Over more than 15 years of development, overcoming those challenges, I have led Thang Loi Group to become one of the leading reputable real estate corporations in the Southern region with more than 15 large-scale urban projects, over 10,000 quality housing products, and a multi-sector ecosystem including: real estate - construction - technology - education - media - green agricultural real estate.

- PV: In the coming period, what investment and product development strategies will the Group focus on to further solidify its position?

Mr. Duong Long Thanh: As the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thang Loi Real Estate Group Joint Stock Company, I directly lead, guide, organize, supervise, and decide on the development strategies of the entire Group system, ensuring sustainable growth and making a positive contribution to the state budget.

With the strategic goal of becoming a "Professional Housing Production Unit" by 2035, we have many projects that have been and are being effectively implemented in Tay Ninh province and the southwestern area of ​​Ho Chi Minh City, such as Tan Tru Royal (Tan Tru); The Sol City (Can Giuoc); The Diamond City (Duc Hoa); J-Dragon (Can Duoc),…In particular, the Win City project is envisioned to become a dynamic commercial center of the western Saigon area, playing a key role in the economic and urban development of the Duc Hoa region (Tay Ninh).

Thang Loi Group aims to be the "National Real Estate Producer" - a pioneer in creating new standards in Vietnam's housing sector. The group targets an average of 5,000 homes per year, aiming to reach 50,000 homes by 2035, meeting the growing housing needs of the people while making a positive contribution to national sustainable development goals.

Mr. Duong Long Thanh connects members to participate in investment promotion activities in Japan.

- Interviewer: We understand that, in addition to your role as an entrepreneur, you also hold the important positions of Vice President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association and President of the Tay Ninh Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association. So, in your capacity, what outstanding efforts and results have you achieved in strengthening the organization, developing membership, and spreading the entrepreneurial spirit in Tay Ninh and the Southern region?

Mr. Duong Long Thanh: In my role as Vice President of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association for the 2022-2025 term, I directed the implementation of important national programs such as: Vietnamese Young Entrepreneurs for Sustainable Development, I Love My Homeland, and especially Connecting and Acting Together. With the trust placed in me, I mobilized over 25 billion VND in social resources to support the Association's activities and community programs for three consecutive years (2023-2025). In addition, the region under my responsibility developed an additional 3,000 new members, bringing the total number of young entrepreneurs in the region to 6,500, contributing more than 20% of the total number of members nationwide.

These contributions have been recognized by the Central Committee of the Association, and I am honored to be recognized as one of the five most outstanding Vice Presidents in the past term. Recently, I was also re-elected by consensus to the position of Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association for the 2025-2030 term.

As Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association for the 2022-2025 term, I established five new branches and three specialized clubs (Entrepreneurship, Digital Transformation, Culture - Sports) to diversify activities. Under my leadership, the Association admitted 300 new members, bringing the total number of young entrepreneurs in the province to over 920, achieving an impressive growth rate of 160% compared to the previous term.

In addition, I launched the "Young Entrepreneurs of Tay Ninh - Innovation - Creativity - Connection - Development" movement, successfully organizing over 60 business networking programs, 20 thematic workshops, and 10 short-term training courses on management, finance, and marketing, attracting over 6,000 young entrepreneurs and helping them integrate and develop sustainably.

Mr. Duong Long Thanh supports social welfare work.

- Interviewer: Besides being a successful businessman, you're also the initiator of many meaningful community programs, most notably the "Million Steps to Happiness" program. So, what are your and Thang Loi Group's directions for fulfilling social responsibility and your major goals for the future?

Mr. Duong Long Thanh: I have always held a core philosophy: "Business development must be linked to serving society." Therefore, I have directly initiated and directed a series of social welfare and charitable programs that have spread widely throughout the country. Among them, I am most proud of activities such as: The "Warm Clothes for Children" program – I collaborated with other organizations to organize this program. From 2022-2024, we supported students in the mountainous regions of Northwest Vietnam, the Central Highlands, and the Southwest border by donating over 30,000 warm jackets, woolen blankets, and essential supplies, with a total cost of over 5 billion VND. Or the "Million Steps to Happiness" program – a sports and charity campaign that I founded. The program attracted over 20,000 participants in running and raised over 2 billion VND to support the construction of charity houses, award scholarships, and donate bicycles to poor children. In addition to major events, we also maintain the annual Thang Loi Sharing - Connecting Love program during Tet (Lunar New Year) to bring gifts to poor households and people in difficult circumstances in Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh province, and Gia Lai province. Notably, during the period 2022-2024, under my leadership, Thang Loi Group contributed a total of nearly 10 billion VND to charitable programs and community activities.

I am very happy that my dedicated efforts have been recognized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association and the authorities of Long An province (before the merger), Tay Ninh, and Ho Chi Minh City. After nearly two decades of hard work, I have received many prestigious awards and commendations. In particular, being honored as a Red Star Entrepreneur in 2025 is a significant milestone and a springboard for me to continue pursuing my goal: "Business linked with dedication, development coupled with service."
