Da Lat Phalaenopsis orchids bloom at Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival 2025

(LĐ online) - On May 17, Mr. Phan Thanh Sang - Chairman of the Dalat Flower Association informed that the work "Vietnamese Soul" by members of the Dalat Phalaenopsis Orchid Club is an impressive highlight attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit and enjoy at the 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival, 2025 with the theme "Multi-colored Train" taking place at Tao Dan Park (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).

The Phalaenopsis Orchid Club, established by the Dalat Flower Association, includes prestigious companies in the fields of business, distribution, and artistic creation of Dalat Phalaenopsis orchids, contributing to promoting the quality of the Dalat Phalaenopsis orchid brand. The work "Vietnamese Soul" was created with the participation of a number of members of the Dalat Flower Association. This work had won the Silver Prize at the Taiwan International Orchid Exhibition - TIOS in 2025. Mr. Phan Thanh Sang added: This impressive result was achieved the first time the Club and Vietnamese orchids participated in one of the world's largest playgrounds.

At this Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival, the work "Vietnamese Soul" was created from 2,500 branches of various types of Phalaenopsis flowers, meticulously made by 20 people in 4 days. The center of the work "Vietnamese Soul" is a model of a girl wearing a white ao dai and a conical hat, representing the image of Vietnamese women, surrounded by five conical hats representing the 5 continents.

The 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival in 2025 is an event in a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) organized by Ho Chi Minh City.

Inspired by the two Thong Nhat trains departing on December 31, 1976 in Hanoi and Saigon, symbolizing the desire for peace and reunion, this year's festival recreates the image of a train running through the North and South, connecting the past, present and future. This idea is expressed through "special train stations", where brilliant orchids from all over the country converge, while conveying the message of sustainable development: "Green City - Future City", aiming for the goal of Net Zero, protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for the community.

The festival attracted the participation of more than 200 units including cooperatives, gardeners, and artisans from many localities. More than 39,000 orchid products were displayed. The event aimed to introduce and promote native orchid varieties and newly hybridized varieties, while creating a playground for exchange and sharing of experiences in growing and caring for orchids among artisans, gardeners, and cooperatives. It was also an opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City to demonstrate its role as a center for cultural exchange, contributing to building a green, creative, and affectionate city in the hearts of international friends and people across the country.
