Spreading the desire to start a business and become rich among young people

1. In recent times, activities to support young people in starting up and developing the economy have been focused on and implemented by all levels of the Youth Union and Association in Long An province. Every year, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) in the province coordinate to organize online training courses for young people participating in starting up in conjunction with the provincial OCOP Project; Forum for young people, students, and students to start up innovative businesses for Youth Union and Association officials and students, union members, association members, and young people.

Support for TN's startup models and projects is carried out through regular organization of seminars, forums, experience sharing programs, training, connection, and introduction to business units to sign support contracts; coordination with relevant departments and branches to support ideas on documents and procedures to obtain product certification;...

From 2019-2024, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee and the Vietnam Youth Union organized 97 exchange programs and shared start-up experiences for more than 6,991 members and young people to participate; 73 classes and training topics to support young people to start a business for more than 10,364 members and young people to participate.

Through the youth start-up movements, typical projects have emerged. Among them, the Vietnam Aluminum Painting project by youth Nguyen Thanh Tung (born in 1986, in Ben Luc district). This project has entered the final round of the 5th Provincial Innovation and Startup Competition in 2024.

Stemming from his passion for fine arts since childhood and his awareness of the current state of the environment, especially the increasing amount of waste that affects people's lives and health, Nguyen Thanh Tung told himself to do something beneficial for the environment. He reused plastic bottles, floor cleaner bottles as pots for growing clean vegetables, watering cans or painted decorative patterns on glass wine bottles to beautify his living space. In particular, he was particularly interested in waste materials such as beer and soft drink cans.

Mr. Tung said: "The inside of the beer can is shiny aluminum, has high durability, does not change color, does not rust or oxidize, so I tried to use it to make aluminum paintings."

He has launched more than 200 aluminum painting products and received positive feedback from customers. In 2022, he was granted a Certificate of Copyright on the Process of creating aluminum painting products by the Department of Intellectual Property. To complete an aluminum painting, Mr. Tung goes through many manual stages such as processing raw materials, drawing details, embossing, cutting finished details, and rolling details to complete the painting.

Currently, Mr. Tung makes two types of decorative products for desks and walls with prices ranging from 350,000-5 million VND or tens of millions of VND depending on customer requirements. Under his talented hands, beer and soft drink cans become colorful paintings, contributing to decorating living spaces and protecting the environment.

2. Besides the startup model of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, the project of Sweet and Sour Pickled Pineapple Root of Tan Tay Commune Youth Union, Thanh Hoa District is also one of the 5 projects that made it to the final round of this year's Innovative Startup Competition.

Tan Tay Commune Youth Union Secretary - Phung Tan Dat said, Tan Tay is famous for its craft villages such as growing yellow apricot and many other crops. In addition to the economic value of yellow apricot, pineapple is also a crop that occupies a large area in Thanh Hoa district. In addition to harvesting fruit, few people know that pineapple shoots have a white part (root) with a sweet, fragrant, crunchy taste that can be processed into rustic dishes with a strong Western flavor. The root is cleaned, soaked in vinegar water, sugar combined with radish, carrots, garlic cloves, chili, ... can be used as a dish with rice or as an appetizer. 500g of pineapple root (not including the water) soaked in a 500ml jar costs 100,000 VND, often sold on the spot, wholesale, online.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, President of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province - Le Thi Hong Ket said that the start-up movement has created a wave of innovative thinking among union members, youth and people. From considering start-ups as a challenge that can be risky, today, more and more young people perceive this as an opportunity to express themselves, contribute to society and create new values.

In order to promote the start-up movement in the youth, in recent times, departments, branches and localities have paid attention to creating favorable conditions for youth to develop through timely support policies, thereby giving youth more motivation to strive and practice in all aspects, striving to master advanced science and technology, arousing the desire to start a business and get rich legitimately./.
