Spreading Vietnamese cultural and handicraft products in Brunei

Sharing with RTB Television, the wife of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Brunei, Le Thi Hong Ngoan, expressed her emotion at the enthusiastic participation and respect for traditional Vietnamese cultural values of the Brunei students.

In order to promote Vietnamese cultural products and enhance people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries, the Vietnamese Embassy in Brunei Darussalam has recently encouraged and supported Vietnamese businesses and communities to organize fairs, exhibitions of goods and many activities to introduce traditional Vietnamese products in Brunei.

On July 28, the Embassy coordinated with Rattan House to organize a handicraft making class with the participation and guidance of Ambassador Le Thi Hong Ngoan, Mrs. Maisharah Nguyen, Director of Rattan House, and more than 20 Brunei students of various ages. Brunei national television station RTB sent reporters to report on this activity.

The Brunei students were instructed in mother-of-pearl inlay decoration on ceramic vases. In their first exposure to Vietnamese mother-of-pearl inlay art, the students were all very interested and made great efforts to complete their products. Many students expressed their desire to continue participating in Vietnamese handicraft making classes in the future and hope to have the opportunity to travel and explore Vietnamese traditional culture and art.

Sharing with RTB Television, Ms. Le Thi Hong Ngoan expressed her emotion at the enthusiastic participation and appreciation of traditional Vietnamese cultural values of Brunei students. The Ambassador's wife believes that the cultural promotion activities organized by the Embassy and the Vietnamese business community in the coming time will continue to receive the attention of the people and media of Brunei, contributing to enhancing cultural exchange between the two countries.

Ms. Maishara Nguyen, Director of Rattan House, said that the Brunei market has received many Vietnamese handicraft products distributed by Rattan House and a number of Vietnamese enterprises, including mother-of-pearl inlays, rattan and bamboo furniture and decorative items, household items made from environmentally friendly products, etc. In recent times, Rattan House has organized many classes on Vietnamese handicrafts and culinary culture, and all have received enthusiastic responses from Brunei students.
