With over 10 years of experience as a taxi driver, Ms. Hoang Thi Ha (Ha Long ward) has traveled extensively, often taking passengers to hospitals. One day, while waiting for a patient at Hanoi Medical University Hospital, she noticed a large number of patients in the emergency room and a high demand for blood transfusions. She boldly expressed her desire to donate blood. After having her blood tested, she donated 350ml, the maximum amount allowed for a single donation. Returning home, Ms. Ha felt incredibly encouraged and even more determined to participate in charitable activities for the community.
After giving birth to her second child, from 2023 to the present, Ms. Ha has been regularly donating blood at Bai Chay Hospital every three months. She also donates platelets once a month at the Provincial General Hospital. "No matter the time, when there's an order, I'm on my way," Ms. Ha said jokingly about being included in the hospital's platelet donation group with over 50 members. There are days when, even at 11 pm, if the hospital needs her, she'll be there immediately. Doing good deeds has helped her become a more calm and compassionate person after the hardships of her daily life.

Thanks to extended helping hands, blood donation clubs, humanitarian and charitable groups, and volunteer groups, more people with unfortunate circumstances in the province have received support and encouragement.
Having only been active in charitable work for three years, the 24-Hour Living Blood Bank Club already has nearly 400 members. Every three months, these "warriors" volunteer to donate blood at medical facilities in Quang Ninh province. Sometimes they donate 60 units, other times 180 units, and they are particularly unafraid to handle sudden blood shortages for emergency situations. Before the Lunar New Year of 2026, in just four days of campaigning, the club, in coordination with the Hong Ha Market Management Board, mobilized 61 units of donated blood from traders and local residents. After the Lunar New Year, the club collaborated with Vinfast to mobilize 160 units of donated blood from drivers and garage owners. Beyond donating blood and platelets, club members also bring the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival, Tet gifts, and bicycles to children in disadvantaged areas of Binh Lieu and Hai Ha districts.
“Every year, 10-15 of the most disadvantaged children receive bicycles. Seeing them happy to receive the bikes makes us very happy,” shared Bui Thi Huong Mai, Vice Head of the 24-Hour Blood Bank Club. Last year, the club raised over 100 million VND through donations from benefactors to organize Children's Day for children with thalassemia at Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. And for the past two years, volunteers have delivered a charitable porridge meal worth 40 million VND to Quang Ninh Traditional Medicine Hospital to support patients: “We have no intention of stopping; the next activity will be larger and more effective than the previous one to help even more people,” added Ms. Huong Mai.
A crucial contribution to the achievements of the Quang Ninh Provincial Red Cross Society over the years has been the enthusiastic dedication of its clubs and volunteer teams. Considered the "extended arms" of the Red Cross Society, Quang Ninh currently has 11 core volunteer clubs that tirelessly sow seeds of compassion, delivering timely assistance to the less fortunate in the community.

Since then, the Red Cross branches at all levels in Quang Ninh province have affirmed their pivotal role in humanitarian work with many practical and comprehensive activities. From disaster prevention and response to community health care and initial first aid, the Red Cross has always been a reliable support for those in difficult circumstances. In particular, the campaigns for voluntary blood donation, organ and tissue donation, as well as activities to find relatives and promote humanitarian values, have created a strong ripple effect. Without needing glamorous titles, the greatest reward for these volunteer hearts is the smile of children in the highlands when they receive warm clothes, the renewed heartbeat of a heart after a blood transfusion, and the shelter provided to those in need. In this land rich in mineral resources, "compassion" is the most precious ore, shining brighter the more it is extracted.
