Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai suggested that Bac Lieu University re-evaluate the effectiveness of training majors, thereby selecting and developing key majors.
At the meeting, Dr. Phan Van Dan, Principal of Bac Lieu University, said that the school has organized a streamlined apparatus including 5 faculties, 2 centers, 7 functional departments; has 211 staff; of which, 22.3% of lecturers have doctoral degrees. 100% of training programs are improved according to the national qualification framework; training scale of over 2,900 students with 12 majors; meets the quality assessment standards of educational institutions and is opening 3 new majors. In the past 5 years, the school has carried out 86 scientific research topics.
At the meeting, the school proposed that the provincial leaders support in resolving difficulties in facilities and resources such as: Speeding up the appraisal of the Project to renovate Facility 2; adding about 6 hectares of land; receiving the old facility of the Provincial Military Command; assigning Facility 3 to the Administrative Center. Regarding training, it proposed to be assigned as the focal point for training high-quality human resources, opening new majors according to local needs. Regarding personnel, it proposed to recruit enough civil servants, giving priority to PhDs and adding 2 vacant vice principals.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai requested Bac Lieu University to focus on researching and innovating programs and teaching methods to train high-quality human resources, meet the requirements of the labor market and create trust for the people.
Regarding the school's recommendations, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Thanh Ngai assigned relevant departments and branches to study and advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve them in a suitable and effective manner; at the same time, he said the province will study policies to attract high-quality human resources to serve the common development.

Speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of Bac Lieu University; at the same time, he requested the school to develop specific solutions and roadmaps to attract high-quality human resources to work at the school; prioritize attracting lecturers, experts, and leading scientists; strengthen the connection between the school and experts, scientists, and businesses to put scientific research results into practice, making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the province; re-evaluate the effectiveness of training professions, thereby selecting and developing key industries, associated with the human resource needs of the province and the region; research and build a modern and effective community electronic library, creating the school's own brand.
In terms of facilities, in the short term, there needs to be a training facility in Ca Mau to serve the locality, and in the long term, it is necessary to plan a facility worthy of a university in the Mekong Delta region, undertaking the task of training high-quality human resources for the whole region. To build scientific research and application centers, it is necessary to design an operating model suitable to the conditions of each locality. To promote communication work, promote the image and reputation of the school in the political system, to the staff, party members, union members and the people, including in the digital environment.
Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Ho Hai hopes that Bac Lieu University will continue to strengthen cooperation with domestic and foreign universities, promoting its role as a training and scientific research center in the region.
