- On October 7, a working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Duong Xuan Huyen, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected flood response work in Van Nham commune.
According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Van Nham commune, from the morning of October 6 to the morning of October 7, there was moderate rain, heavy rain, and sometimes very heavy rain in Van Nham commune. From the night of October 6, the water level on rivers and streams passing through the area rose, combined with the amount of water flowing from upstream, causing many traffic routes, bridges, and spillways to be flooded, many villages were isolated, causing damage to people's property.

Specifically, in the commune, 10 households suffered landslides behind their houses, of which 3 households had their walls breached; 15 villages with over 1,000 households were flooded and isolated; many roads in the commune were deeply flooded, many sections had landslides... In addition, there were many losses in agricultural production in the commune, but currently there are no statistics because the water continues to rise and many points are isolated.

Regarding the recovery work, the commune has been mobilizing local forces to support and help households clean up landslides; placing barriers and signs, arranging forces on duty 24/7 on flooded roads; mobilizing forces to support families in areas at high risk of landslides and flooding to evacuate to a safe place; preparing drinking water, instant noodles and some other necessary necessities to support people...

At the inspection session, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments, branches, and functional forces to continue to closely coordinate with Van Nham commune as well as other communes in the flooded area to deploy timely response measures. These include organizing support to evacuate households in dangerous areas to safe places; fully arranging forces, vehicles, machinery, and necessities to support people according to the "4 on-site" motto; proactively warning and guarding at flooded and vulnerable locations to ensure the safety of people's lives and property; regularly monitoring the development of floods and storms, not being subjective or negligent, focusing on responding to floods and storms to minimize damage.

Previously, the provincial People's Committee leaders and the working delegation inspected the flooded area in Van Nham commune.
* On the same morning, the provincial working delegation led by Mr. Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, inspected the response and damage recovery work caused by storm No. 11 in That Khe and Trang Dinh communes.

According to quick reports from the communes, from early morning on October 6 to early morning on October 7, moderate and heavy rains occurred in the communes, water levels in rivers and streams rose rapidly, causing heavy property damage. As of 8:00 a.m. on October 7, in That Khe commune, 65 households had water entering their houses; about 25 hectares of trees and crops were flooded; in Trang Dinh commune, about 430 households had their houses flooded; damage to rice, corn, and crops was about 165 hectares... There were no human casualties recorded in the two communes.
Faced with the complicated developments of floods and storms, communes and related levels and sectors have synchronously deployed many solutions to proactively respond and overcome them, such as: arranging forces to be on duty to prevent and fight storms and floods 24/7, organizing patrols, inspections, mobilizing human resources to support the evacuation of people and property to safe places... Currently, the work of responding to and overcoming storm damage is still being coordinated by communes and forces.

At the inspection session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the People's Committees of the two communes and relevant departments, branches and units to continue to monitor and closely follow weather developments and water level forecasts to propagate and mobilize people and assets to safe places; coordinate to prepare food and drinking water for isolated areas; focus on flexibly and effectively implementing plans, and well implementing the "4 on-site" motto. At the same time, the Provincial Military Command added more human resources, equipment and materials to support the two communes of That Khe and Trang Dinh to respond to and overcome storm damage.
