- On the morning of May 15, Comrade Doan Thanh Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the implementation of the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Van Lang district.
Joining the delegation were leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; a number of relevant departments, and the Office of the Provincial People's Committee.
In recent times, the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for households with meritorious services to the revolution, policy families, poor households, near-poor households, people affected by natural disasters, climate change and other subjects in need of support to improve housing in Van Lang district has received attention, direction and active participation from Party committees, authorities, and support from agencies, units and people. The Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has been actively and synchronously implemented, ensuring the set progress.
Specifically, implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses according to Resolution No. 188 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Van Lang district has completed 256/256 houses (of which 115 were newly built and 141 were repaired), reaching 100%.
Implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses according to Decision No. 1025/QD-UBND dated May 8, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, the district has completed 244/462 houses (of which 108 are newly built houses, 136 are repaired houses), reaching nearly 53%.
Van Lang District proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider early allocation of funding to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses with a total cost of over VND5.3 billion, of which VND330 million is for 9 households with meritorious services; over VND550 million for poor and near-poor households and over VND4.4 billion for households affected by natural disasters.
At the inspection, delegates exchanged, discussed and clarified a number of issues such as: difficulties in transporting construction materials to disadvantaged areas; surveying and reviewing the current status of housing; funding for program implementation; propaganda work to create consensus among the people on program implementation...
Concluding the inspection, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the initiative of Van Lang district in implementing the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses.
He suggested that in the coming time, the Party Committees, authorities, and Fatherland Fronts at all levels in the district continue to widely and consistently propagate and disseminate the content and significance of the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, mobilizing the participation of all classes of people; continue to review and update the list of households eligible for support, ensuring the right subjects according to regulations, publicity, transparency, and not allowing negativity or complaints during the implementation process; focus on urging and directing communes and towns to speed up the construction progress of the remaining works, striving to complete before June 30, 2025 as the district's target.
At the same time, the district strengthens inspection and supervision of construction progress and quality, supervision of quality of construction material suppliers; takes appropriate measures to promptly encourage and reward outstanding organizations, units and individuals, creating motivation for competition, spreading the sense of responsibility and profound humanistic meaning of the program in the community.
Regarding the district's proposals and recommendations, he acknowledged and assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate with relevant agencies and units based on current regulations, synthesize, and advise the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve promptly and effectively.
Previously, the working group inspected the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses at some households in Na Mo village, Tan My commune, Van Lang district. On this occasion, the working group gave gifts to encourage the households that came to be inspected.
