Vietnamese leaders send condolences over plane crash in the United States

Upon hearing of the plane crash that occurred in Washington DC, USA on January 29, 2025, which killed many people, on January 31, 2025, President Luong Cuong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent condolences to US President Donald Trump.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son sent a message of condolences to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The collision occurred on the night of January 29, killing 67 people.

US President Donald Trump confirmed on January 30 that there were no survivors after the previous mid-air collision between an American Airlines CRJ700 Bombardier passenger plane and a US military BlackHawk helicopter.

When the accident occurred, the Bombardier CRJ700 aircraft was carrying 64 passengers and crew, while the BlackHawk helicopter had three military personnel on board.

Speaking at the White House after the accident in Washington, Mr. Trump said the current task has shifted to finding the bodies of the victims. The US leader expressed regret that there were no survivors of the accident and called it “a dark and painful night” in Washington./.
