Lao Cai: Training tour guides at the site by 2025

On May 13, in Sa Pa town, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province held the opening ceremony of the 2025 on-site tour guide training course.

The training course took place over 2 days (May 13-14) with the participation of 30 students from communes and wards in Sa Pa town. At the class, the students were taught by Ms. Tran Nu Ngoc Anh, an expert of the Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Project (funded by the EU): General overview of the development history of tourist areas and tourist destinations; Basic characteristics of tourist areas and tourist destinations; Psychological characteristics of tourists by market, gender, age; Verbal and body language communication skills; Problem solving skills; Tour guide process at the destination, specialized tour guide skills; General overview of the locality; Comparison of the value of the local tourist area and tourist destination with some similar tourist areas and tourist destinations...

Along with that, students also practice introducing tourist areas and tourist attractions at Cat Cat village, Golden stream, Love waterfall ...

The training course aims to improve the quality and build a team of professional tour guides at the site, with guiding skills to meet the requirements of tourists and knowledge of history, culture, socio-economy of the locality, tourist areas and tourist attractions.

In 2025, the training program for tour guides at the site organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is part of Project 6 "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development in 2025". In May 2025, Sa Pa town will organize 4 classes with a total of 140 participants.
