The Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance has actively coordinated with relevant agencies to organize statistics and make a list of each case of deregistered fishing vessels; fishing vessels bought and sold, transferred ownership; and vessels declared missing in and outside the province.
In cases where a vessel is deregistered, the reason for deregistration must be clearly stated. The vessel owner must provide a written approval to purchase the vessel, a fishing vessel purchase contract before deregistration, withdrawal of original documents, time of deregistration, etc.
Deregistration of fishing vessels must comply with the provisions of Article 72 of the 2017 Fisheries Law. For the list of fishing vessels bought and sold, or transferred ownership, the full name and address of the vessel buyer must be clearly stated.
After completing the required procedures, the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control has cancelled the registration of 18 fishing vessels and re-registered 45 vessels. The remaining vessels are urgently completing procedures to handle them according to the law.
The review and listing of fishing vessels helps Ninh Binh province regularly update the province's fishing vessel data to the National Fisheries Database System (VNFishbase), contributing to the leadership and direction of IUU fishing prevention and combat and preparing to work with the 5th Inspection Team of the European Commission on withdrawing the "yellow card" warning for Vietnamese seafood.
