Located in the south of Ha Long Bay and the east of Cat Ba Island, Lan Ha Bay ( Hai Phong ) is becoming a popular tourist destination recently. However, the wild beauty here is flooded with floating trash, mainly foam buoys, which is affecting the beautiful image of nature. The Cat Ba District People's Committee Management Board coordinated with the rapid response inflatable boat team (belonging to the Pickup VietNam Club) to collect trash on Lan Ha Bay and beaches with tourists, in order to spread awareness and responsibility to people not to litter into the sea.

From early morning, the rapid response inflatable boat team departed from Ben Beo and ran down to Tra Bau area, consisting of 10 inflatable boats with more than 20 members. |

"Garbage collection is difficult because of the lack of vehicles, so I mobilized my team to support and process and collect waste to the Management Board's collection point according to regulations. In addition, directly collecting garbage at sea will be seen by locals and tourists, in order to spread good deeds to everyone," said Mr. Vu Minh Hung, head of the inflatable boat team. |
At a location in Lan Ha Bay, the team discovered a large amount of waste that needed to be treated urgently. |
The main type of waste is styrofoam or large styrofoam boxes. |
Large amounts of garbage take a long time to get to the disposal site. |
The situation of garbage and styrofoam floating on the bay occurs frequently, causing discomfort to visitors. |
