Today (October 12), Vu Thu district will organize the opening ceremony of Keo Pagoda festival on a large scale at the Keo Pagoda Relic Management Board yard, broadcast live on Thai Binh Radio and Television and other provinces and cities across the country.

The highlight of the opening night was the theatrical art program with the theme "Keo Pagoda - Eternally sacred", performed by artists from central and local art troupes, under the advice of History Professor Le Van Lan.
In addition, Vu Thu district will open a fair to introduce OCOP products and key local products, a cake and food festival with 150 booths.
During the 8 days of the festival, many cultural, sports and folk games such as boat singing, rowing exchange, water puppetry, phoenix betel making, traditional martial arts performances, chess tournaments, and duck catching games under the lake... will be held.
At the same time as the opening ceremony of Keo Pagoda Festival, on the afternoon of October 12, the District Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee of Vu Thu District will also hold a ceremony to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the district's establishment, an important milestone in the development process of a purely agricultural district, which is rising in the process of industrialization and modernization.
Keo Pagoda was recognized as a special national monument in 2012; Keo Pagoda Festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2017; Keo Pagoda's altar was recognized as a national treasure in 2021.
All of these things have created great value and influence for Keo Pagoda festival which is held twice a year in spring and autumn, but the autumn festival is always considered the biggest cultural event of the year in the rice land of Thai Binh.
