The opening ceremony of the festival will take place at 5:30 p.m. on March 16. The Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva Festival (official ceremony) will take place at 7 a.m. on March 18.
Within the framework of this year's festival, there will be an incense offering ceremony to commemorate Princess Huyen Tran; a spring ceremony to pray for national peace and people's well-being; an exhibition, summary and award ceremony of the art photography contest with the theme "Quan Am - festival season"; a children's painting contest and live performance of drawings and sketches about the Quan The Am Ngu Hanh Son festival; the opening of the book debate contest "Literature with Buddhism"; the opening of the fine arts exhibition: Lotus paintings painted in oil by artist Kim Chi Hoang; the launch of the special issue Dieu Am Quan The Am Festival 2025; the exhibition and performance of Non Nuoc fine art stone art...
Religious and belief activities including the Great Compassion Dharma Platform, meditation, Dharma talks, Avalokiteshvara empowerment, flower lanterns, campfires... will be organized by Avalokiteshvara Pagoda and other monasteries throughout the festival.
In particular, within the framework of this year's festival, there are two meaningful activities: a peace walk with more than 300 people representing city agencies, organizations, and foreign consulates in Da Nang hosted by the City Peace Committee and a discussion on "The influence of Buddhism in the Ma Nhai documentary heritage at the Ngu Hanh Son scenic spot".
The festival organizers said they will focus on ensuring security, order, traffic safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting, and food safety and hygiene to contribute to organizing a unique and civilized festival with the criteria of 5 no's: no theft, robbery, and social evils; no wandering, begging, or disguised begging; no littering, no violations of food safety and hygiene; no soliciting, price gouging, or price gouging; no releasing animals, and no superstitious activities.
In 2000, the Quan The Am Ngu Hanh Son Festival was listed by the General Department of Tourism as one of the 15 major festivals in the country. In 2021, the Quan The Am Ngu Hanh Son Festival was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage. From 2023, the Quan The Am Ngu Hanh Son Festival will be organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City on a city-level scale.
